A really fun experience!
Sep 2021
The Safari - First and foremost, the drive thru safari is awesome! What an amazing treat to have such an amazing attraction in the middle of New Jersey. When they converted the safari to a ride, it was still excellent, but the drive thru experience with the incredible array of animals roaming on tremendous acres of land is not to miss experience.
The Theme Park - The theme park has its good points and bad points.
Games - For the first time, we decided to throw some money away at the Boardwalk games and we ran into the most pleasant employees that I have every run into at a theme park. Andrea was running the Super Mario Racing game. She noticed that we were trying to have my kids play with as few competitor as possible and was so nice trying to help us to make that happen. The man next to her, whose name I didn't catch, allowed my younger one to have the fun of trying to hit the beach ball with the bean bags (and not count) after my older daughter was not successful in the game. And Anthony, who was running the basketball game, coached me and cheered me on as I was attempting to shoot my second ball. The three of them made the Boardwalk experience so much fun for my family.
Food - I can only comment on a few of the restaurants...mainly our (former?) favorite...Best of the West. It is a really nice themed atmospheric fast food like restaurant which sits right on the lake by the flume. This has always been our go to choice when using our food passes. However, throughout the year, the customer service, menu choices, quantity of food, and quality of food have deteriorated tremendously. For the first time ever, when we were completing lunch yesterday, my daughter said, "Maybe we should just eat peanut butter sandwiches at the car on our next visit. The food is really bad." The corn was tasteless, the grilled chicken sandwich is gone, there is no longer an adult chicken tender option, there were no fries with the kids meal, both the pulled pork and brisket were bad, they portions were small (which maybe I shouldn't complain about) and they have added a $2 surcharge for almost every meal. We also tried Chopstix once on an earlier visit and the portions were small and the food way too salty (even for Chinese food). The snacks are generally very good and always fun for the kids. They love Dippin' Dots, the soft serve, funnel cake, and soft pretzels. We tried the Churros but they were a little stale. We also noticed the lunch/snack meal plan went from $40 to $60. I hope this is only temporary due to the pandemic as we don't go enough times in the year to warrant the huge price increase.
Rides - For the most part, if you are a roller coast enthusiast, it is a don't miss park. Although we enjoy an occasional roller coaster, no one in my family is looking to ride the tallest, fastest, twistiest, standing, sitting, lying down, standing on one leg with one arm in the air roller coaster. Our favorites are Batman, Nitro, Runaway Mine Train, and Skull Mountain. Some of which may be favorites due to height restrictions on other coasters.
The absolute best ride in the park, hands down, is the Sawmill Log Flume. It is a great ride...although they need to make uphill portions smoother. Second best ride is the League of Justice (shooting) ride. (Both the flume and justice league are great family rides!) Probably followed by one of the aforementioned roller coasters. Though the sky ride, bumper cars, parachute and ferris wheel are stll great rides (though for some reason they never run enough parachute and ferris wheel cars.) I have no clue as to the economics of running a theme park, but, if I was running the park, I would enhance some of the existing rides (with better themes and fun additions) and add a few family rides. Maybe after smoothing out the start of the flume, add a covered bridge to the part of it before the last uphill. You could add projections inside that change with months or holidays. Have a water tunnel (drippy old mine) over Runaway Mine Train as it dips down before the end of the ride. Darken Skull Mountain and add glow in the dark scary characters, etc... Add a Jungle Cruise like ride by the flume or a nice train ride through the woods (which was there a few decades ago). Honestly, how fast, twisty, or contorted can your body get before a ride is just uncomfortable and not fun (eg. Joker, Kingda Ka or El Toro)?
They definitely need more and better family entertainment. Anyone remember the amazing diving shows and circus? Random thought, maybe Six Flags should team up with Grounds for Sculpture and create an alternate combo season pass (which might work better for families with young kids)?
The park is well maintained, it is pretty clean, and the bathrooms are in very decent shape for a theme park (though the stalls are tiny).
For the small amount of money they charge for a season pass, (even though as of next year you will need a membership to go to other SIx Flags park) it is well worth it to go a few times a year and have a Six Flags Day!

Love it!!!!
Sep 2021 • Family
This is our weekend home! My husband surprised us with season passes and we definitely get our money’s worth! Every Saturday we take the almost 2 hour drive with our 3 kids ( 3,6, and 11 years old). Every time we pull in it’s like the first time. We have so much fun. My 11 year old is now tall enough for the big coasters and she’s ridden every single one. My six year old can get on a few of the bigger ones but there’s so many rides for kids so it’s fun for even our little one. The staff is amazing and the Fright Fest is a must see. We saw the fireworks last night and it’s one of the best displays I’ve ever seen. I highly recommend getting season passes. They pay for themselves in 2 visits maybe 1 if you do the Safari and Hurricane Harbor (closed for the season). Kingda Ka is incredible and if you’re a thrill seeker try the 1st row. Jersey Devil is amazing and the ride operators do an incredible job keeping the line down. I could go on all day. Food is pricey but it’s a theme park so that’s what they do. I highly recommend this for a family day out, date night, or just a fun trip with friends. Stay safe y’all!

Sep 2021 • Family
This was our first visit this was such a bad experience. Our passes wouldn’t work we had flash passes our passes didn’t work it didn’t give us 50% off it didn’t work for our meal passes there where young kids with out adults trying to start fights we ended up on guess service my family and I got suck there for three hours and our problem wasn’t solved the staff was so rude as a single mom i saved up for this this is all my daughter wanted to do for her birthday and it was the worse experience we have every had gone with our family which was a group of 23 people this was the worst money ever spent. My son and I almost got separated while leaving the park due to people just pushing threw my son has aADHD along with other things and due to the staff being so mean and rude it had caused my son to shut down I would never go here again people working the rides would let their friends cut the lines. Gift shops shouldn’t find anything in the right sizes I would never come here again

Definitely for the Coaster Lover!

Thrill seekers--come early and get in as many rides as you can! Only place with more top class coasters is Cedar Point. Highly recommend Jersey Devil, El Toro, Kingda Ka, Wonder Woman, Superman... and especially Nitro. If lines aren't your thing, get the Fast Pass - it's well worth the $$.

Fun day at Six Flags Great Adventure
Aug 2021 • Family
My family has Season Passes for the 2020/2021 seasons. Due to COVID, we have not visited the park since December 2019. We didn’t want our passes to go to waste, so we decided to make a visit this summer. We took the NJ Transit bus from Port Authority. Tip for that - the ticket window is in one building but the gate is in the other building. They are connected on the second floor. We went this past Sunday. The weather was extremely cloudy with a high of 79, which, I think, made a big difference in the crowd level. We didn’t wait more than 30 minutes for a ride. My kids are just too short for the bigger rides, but I only waited 30 minutes for Nitro. Another tip - eat at off times. We were hungry when we got there, so we had lunch at 11:00am - no long lines for food, and plenty of tables. My son is autistic, and long lines can be difficult for him, so we always get an accessibility card for him, which is a Godsend. As far as COVID safety goes, while masks are. It required, and social distancing is pretty much non-existent, we decided as a family to wear our masks all day, with the exception of eating and riding on certain rides. Overall, we had a wonderful time. I always expect crowds and mediocre food, but if you have that expectation going in, you can still have a great time.

GO NOW WHILE THE LINES ARE SHORT!
Aug 2021 • Family
My wife and two grandkids were with me on August 26. It was a beautiful sunny day with 90° weather and the park was basically empty. You had to wait no more than maybe 10 minutes on the longest line. If there was any silver lining in this pandemic it would be you can go to Six Flags and get on all the rides that are operational that day with minimal downtime. The park is Covid friendly with plenty of sanitizer and it is clean. I really recommend anyone who is on the fence because of COVID-19 not to worry because it is SAFE here.

Thrilling Fun with the Family
Jul 2021
Nitro is the best roller coaster. This is the first ride we go on! Kingda Ka is thrilling but Nitro last longer and so does the thrill. The park is clean and I have never had any negative experiences. There are always staff and security around.

First season with young teens
Aug 2021 • Family
We've enjoyed the parks several times this year since getting season passes. Kids, 12 and 13 years old, enjoyed the milder rides but hope to do some thrill rides before the end of the season. Enjoyed the main park as well as the water park Hurricane Harbor. Next time will use the app for mobile food ordering. Food was good!

Wild time on the safari adventure.

Outstanding wildlife tour and park. Very responsible priced. Best bet is to go early morning when the animals are the most active.

Horrible Experience
Aug 2021
You should be able to purchase tickets at reasonable price at the park. Not the case.
It is double the amount versus online. Customer service agent was not helpful at all. When a mistake was made with online purchase I was on lengthy holds and Sarah from Texas the agent supervisor did not listen to reason.
There are so many other parks that are worthy of hard earned family money. Knotts Berry Farm or the California beaches.

Very Bad customer service.
