Bring comfortable walking shoes and weather appropriate clothes
The park is full of plenty of fun rides and great during holiday seasons. The lines can get pretty long during peak hours so I recommend getting the fast pass and other passes to help expedite the wait. Fright fest was fun, with around 6 different haunted houses to go visit. The food is expensive and not special so eating beforehand is a good option. Expect lots of walking so bring good shoes and sun screen, jackets, hand sanitizer, etc.
We appreciate the review. Thanks for taking the time. Have a great day!

    Awesome attendant Nitro
On April 7th @4pm we rode Into and the woman attended who sits at the controls was the best most engaging roller coaster operator I have ever seen !!! Love her!!! Made the day that much better.

    Not the experience we expected
I was at this park on May 3rd 2024 with my son. Our holiday on the US East Coast. We are from the Netherlands and our highlight, as rollercoaster fanatics, should have been Six Flags Great Adventure. Fitst of all i want to compliment the enthousiastic employees and ride operators. All very friendly and enjoying their work! Big thumbs up. That fact made our day acceptable. Our plan was to enjoy the rides as muchbas possible by putchasing a Flash Pass, but unfortunately, the Flash Pass sales desk was closed due to staff shortage. ( that was the explaination of the Resort Sevice employee) So no Flash Pass. And what we feared happened. Massive queues, due to schoolbusses full of teenagers. There was a special day about Physics. More than an hour waiting for the best rollercoasters was the result. A lot of other rides were closed because of an unknown reason. Probably also staff respons. And the whole Medusa area was closed. We bought a meal deal online, but when we were hungry, there were massive queues at the available restaurants. Probably caused because the half of food points were closed as well. Waste of time. And for some rides you are obliged to put your bag and phone in a locker which cost 2 dollar for each time. That locker was available for 2 hours for that price. With the waiting times you was forced to take another locker after 1 ride. Cost me an additional 16 dollar. In the end not the experience we expected. But again, the employees must be complimenten big time. The negative things are 100 procent caused by poor management desicions.
Hi Dennis, we’re very sorry that that was your experience with us. Please send a note to vipsupport@sixflags.com, so we can further look into your concerns.

Very expensive but loads of fun
We went near the end of the summer, when kids were readying for school. It was still a weekend. There is an air of Disney-esque selling of items. Pay for accelerated line access, free drinks refills, and other privileges to get the best access and to have the most convenient experience. We did pay for drinks for the season but not anything else. We arrived early enough to get rides on some of the key thrill rides and enjoyed them immensely. For the rest of the time, we stuck to the more traditional ride scene. As people in our 30s and 40s, even the tea cups can give us a thrill. The safari which is officially retired at the end of 2023, was a highlight. I applaud the parks desire to shift from keeping animals in captivity and still found it fun to have the experience. Every other time I have gone to Great Adventure in my life, the safari has been closed.
We appreciate the review. Thanks for taking the time. Have a great day!

    Disappointed
Be careful not to get scammed here! Because of a dire weather forecast, we called before buying tickets to all three parks and were assured that all parks were open, which was not the case. Had they told us the truth, we would only have purchased tickets to the main park. We understand the need to close some of the rides and parks when the weather is dangerous, but hurricane harbor NEVER opened that day. They have a no refund policy, but this was deceptive on their part. We cannot return this season, so we asked for a refund, which they refused.

    Great Day
We have visited Six Flags many times and it is always a great day out. There are plenty of rides and we had two new rides this year (Jersey Devil and Medusa) with the Flash coming out in 2025 (I believe). For the first time in so many visits, King Da Ka was open. This is the tallest ride in the world. It is worth it. Very fast and fun. So many of the regulars are still there and still a great day. Superman, Batman, Nitro among others are great rides. Fun activities for kids of all ages
Hi Moe_ipak, we’re thrilled to get this kind of feedback. Thank you for taking the time to review us. Hope to see you again soon!

    A Great Visit
A friend from Philadelphia and I usually include this park in our coaster trip travels, even if the travels are to other parts of the country. This is a great park that happens to be celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The park offers an excellent selection of rides. The food is decent. Most of the employees are very friendly, and they were all efficient. Despite a lighter crowd than usual, thanks to the weather forecast, the ride ops did a great job moving people through the lines. Re-rides are permitted, and many patrons were taking advantage of this. This is one of the strengths of Six Flags parks.

    Fantastic day out
Looking past the insanely priced food and $30(!) parking, it’s very difficult to give this park anything other than 5 stars for enjoyment. The park is easily accessible from major roads, and the variety and quality of the rides is fantastic, and we loved the fact that the site is fairly compact so you can get between rides quickly. We had an 11 and 9 year old, and rode pretty much all the thrill rides other than Kingda ka (we were cowards!) and superman (closed). Our 9 year old found El Toro a little too intense, but not a complaint because it’s a fantastic ride. We went on a Friday, and not sure if we got lucky or it’s like this all the time, but the queue times were minimal, apart from a long wait on the log flume. Our interactions with the staff were pleasant, they were very helpful.

Action Packed Afternoon at Six Flags Great Adventure!
Enjoyed a great afternoon at Six Flags with my family. We didn't get "fast pass" so were worried about long lines but were pleasantly surprised that we were able to walk on to all of the rides with min wait times (5 mins or less). We even were able to ride El Toro twice in a row without getting off the ride.

Amazing Park, Kingda Ka is a one-of-a-kind thrill experience, thank you, Six Flags!
We are a family of 4, with 3 addicted to thrill rides, so we had high expectations of Six Flags GA (we have been before to other thrill parks, such as Ferrari World, in UAE, and Canada's Wonderland). We basically had the time of our lives, we enjoyed everything. Most important, the park had few visitors, which meant we almost had no line wait. This is important because we are used to 1h+ lines in Disneyland Paris and other parks. We took 6 times Kingda Ka and 4 times El Toro, in the 2 days, and we went to all the rides we wanted to. I have only experienced similar sensations to the ones provided by Kingda Ka on Formula Rossa (the fastest coaster in the world), and these 2 are apart from every other coasters I have been given the thrust felt by the amazing push. Really enjoyed that feeling from Kingda Ka, thank you, Six Flags! I am not sure why I am reading other less positive reviews, but as a European I would advise anyone visiting NY/Phily and enjoying thrill parks to drop by SFGA. My only negative issue and again this is from an European perspective (I am aware everyone in US drives to everywhere), is that the park does not offer any reasonable solution for those that do not have a car. There are no bus nor partner hotels nearby, and this increases the price of visiting SFGA (we took Uber/Lyft, had to wait, risking no one would accept the ride). Perhaps SFGA could at least partner with some hotels to facilitate the visit for those that do not have a car. We went on 27-28th August (2 days). Got the Platinum Pass in a promotion by following an important advice from SF customer center (thank you).

I totally agree with edgaro734. Never ever purchase the flash pass in advance!! We purchased Golden Flash Pass in advance online because they said"you can purchase the pass on site, but the number of the flash pass is limited, you can save time if you purchase online" and it was my son's birthday party.....but the reality was ... we had to wait for 2.5 hours in the line just to receive the flash pass device!! I could not believe their unreasonable inefficient way of operation! We stayed in the line only because we already paid $250 and it was non-refundable! But I want Six Flags to explain why we should wait for more than 30 min to receive an already purchased flash pass!? Our 2.5 hour waiting time for the device made the flash pass totally not worth the money. It was almost scam level of the mal-operation. I think someone in charge should be fired!

My review is based on their Covid practices. A mask was required to get in and temperatures taken upon entry. After that, mask wearing was not enforced at all. Very few people had masks on on line and few following 6 feet of distancing. No one monitored the lines. The line queues were not modified so even if you left distance between the group in front of you, you were right next to the group to your right and left. Only on one ride were we told to sanitize our hands prior to boarding and only saw one ride sanitized between riders. Saw a security guard leaning against a fence in a quiet part of the park - maybe he could be walking around enforcing mask wearing. Also an issue with ride operators on Wonder Woman lasso. He let people pick their own seats so if they left four or five seats between them no one else could ride. If he had taken the time to sit people according to groups and left a couple seats between they could have fit twice as many riders. They should not have opened without proper staff and training. Was a total disappointment.

Never again! We were so excited and realistically did not expect to have enough time for more than a few rides. After spending over $160 ($25 for parking, $60 per ticket x 2, service fee, and tax) and after spending almost 2 hours to drive there with gas and tolls, we ended up on not a single ride after 3 hours at the park. Everywhere you turn, the park is charging you for something. I'm surprised they didn't charge for using the rest rooms! It's a long walk to get to the adult rides, and you pass many arcades, food kiosks, and souvenier shops. Superman ride was closed. Got in line to rent a locker before getting on the ride line. (Many rides require even keys to be checked in, which means more lines each time). Got on line for about 1/2 hour for the Green Lantern ride, then as we got close to the front of the line, there was an announcement that the ride was being stopped indefinetely as something was wrong with it. We kept hearing very loud, fast, and intellibible announcements. We decided to try another ride. Tried to go to Kingda Ka ride and was told it would be a 2 hour wait! Decided to try the slingshot, even though it was an additional $15 each, but the line to purchase the ticket was at least 20 minutes, and the line to take the ride was about 1/2 hour. At this point, we were over it. If we had paid an extra $90 each, we could have bought the cheapest Flash pass, but that only reduces wait time by apx. 25%. And the park says the pass is not good for every ride. I'd say that unless you have time to spend all day on line to ride a few rides, or are willing to pay an extra $170 per ticket for the quickest Flash pass, it's just a waste of time and money. And the crazy thing is that the park was not as full as it can be! The parking lots were only 1/2 full. Hit ridiculous traffic on the way home, so our 8 hour trip was a total bust.

I read both Nyanchibi and Edgar O's reviews, and I couldn't agree with them more.

I went to Six Flags Great Adventure a couple of Saturdays ago, and both lines at the Flash Pass building AND the Flash Pass Express station were over two hours long. I expect there to be lines when going to Great Adventure on a Saturday. However, I paid for the Flash Pass for the ENTIRE SEASON -- I should not have to wait more than a half hour for this service.

This is not a problem with the staff who work at these stations. This is an operational failure and mis-management from whomever is in charge of Guest Services/Flash Pass. I should not have to wait TWO HOURS for a service that enables me to skip the line elsewhere.

I was at Six Flags today and I am a diamond elite member. We first went to get out refill cups witch was a 39 minute wait. Then we had to get our skip the line passes that came with the Diamond elite pass. The line to get the flash pass was an hour. The line was to long and by the time we got to the front of it's we would've finished a ride already so we skipped it. Then we went to the log flume and the line was 2 hours. When we do finally got to the front of the line they stopped putting people on the boats. I asked a guy what the problem was and how long the wait is but he did not respond. We were waiting their for another 20 minutes not knowing what was going on and then a lady fainted. We did not know what to do and we could not leave. It was terrible communication and we did not know if the ride was going to go in. After ANOTHER 20 min they finally told us to leave and did not give us any direction. We decided to go to guest services and the line was 2 hours long to get skip the lines since we wasted time in the log flume. We came at 11:00 and we left at 8:00 and we only got 4 rides done WITH flash passes. I think six flags can change this issue by having a flash pass building ONLY for members and ine for nonmembers, OR they could have you order the flash passes in advance online because I think that it is unfair that I have to pay extra to wait on a 2 hour line to get a skip the line. Also they could'be had better communication and told us in advance whst the problem was so we did bit have to wait in a non moving ride for 2:49 minutes.

We visited Six Flags Great Adventure yesterday. It was absolutely HORRIBLE! The park was packed. I'm not sure how they can say that they are limiting their capacity. They never checked our reservation pass to see that we even had reservations. There was no social distancing at ALL and you stood in line with thousands of people for hours. We ended up buying Flash Passes (an extra $220 for four people) so that we could get through lines faster and ride more rides. We rode 4 rides the entire day! Yes! That is correct. 4 rides and that is after purchasing a flash pass. We had to wait in line for Superman for about an hour with a Flash pass!

Absolutely unacceptable! We've been going to Six Flags for many years - but they have really disappointed us this time. If you have any reservations about covid, social distancing or this place trying to protect you - DO NOT GO!

My children were so excited to spend the day at Six Flags and we had a horrible experience from the very beginning. We got there when it opened and took us almost an hour to get it. No idea why it was taking so long. Once we finally got in, just got worse from there. We waited over an hour to go on the Nitro and then the line just wasn’t moving. Having some issues with ride, so we left. Even the smaller, less popular rides were such a long wait. We stood in line for 90 minutes for the Jersey Devil and still didn’t get on. They started letting people with flash passes get on and taking only few people from our lines. It was ridiculous. My children were thirsty and had to use the restroom, so after waiting that long, we had to get out of line. We probably had another 30 minutes to go.
As far as the food, I bought a 4 person dining package. After ordering food and telling me my daughter can’t hold cheese on her $17 burger, they told me I couldn’t use my dining pass because it was already used. I just purchased it and it definitely wasn’t used. They were arguing with me telling me I used it. Wanted me to go to customer relations and wait there for an hour.
My kids were starving, so spent $60 on barely edible pizza. There are no words for how aggravated I was. My kids were highly disappointed and I am upset with myself for spending money on season passes when I don’t foresee my family returning anytime soon.

I have been to Six Flags in other locations but I have to say, this was the worst experience at a theme park for me ever. We went for a Saturday during Fright Fest and we did pay for the extra Fright Fest activities. Reservations had to be made for both entering the park and the Fright Fest activities which I thought was how they were going to control capacity. The Fright Fest activities did not open until evening. It was a normal park experience until about 5:00 and it seemed like the park went from a manageable amount of people to a park that was completely overloaded. Lines were hours to get any type of food, you couldn't find a bathroom without a line 10-15 or more people deep outside and forget about getting on a ride without standing for hours. We paid extra for the Fright Fest activities and my husband and I did not get in to any of them and our daughter and granddaughter stood for 1.5 hrs and went through one. When we left at 8:00pm, people were still trying to get into the park and the line at the main gate was worse than the line when we initially entered during which we waited 45 minutes just to get into the gate with a ticket ready. When we got to our car, there were no park employees managing the parking situation and literally, there were no cars moving to get out of the park. We finally moved enough to go the wrong way down the next aisle and get out at the other end. Had we stayed in the main line out, we would probably be still in the parking lot. In my opinion, the $$ was more important than the comfort and security of the customers trying to enjoy the park. I will never go back.

I had a great experience the first time I went to Six Flags. As a person who enjoys bigger thrill rides, this was a perfect place for me. Buying tickets before hand is a much better option than buying tickets at the gate. It is much easier to have the tickets with you on your phone than buying them at the park and waiting in line to buy them. Arrive at about 9:30 for the park to open at 10:00 am so the lines will not be too long.
I really enjoyed my first time there. The park is easy to navigate, there was plenty of parking, the lines weren’t long, and the rides did not disappoint.
The best time to go for shorter lines and a faster day is in April and May. All the kids are in school and skipping one day isn’t gonna kill you. However, the best time to go for the best entertainment is during Halloween time when the Fright Fest season is happening. If long lines don’t bother you, Fright Fest is definitely the most fun.
Six Flags is primarily a thrill ride theme park meaning it has multiple high intense rides so if you don’t like big roller coasters then Six Flags is not the place for you. But if you like Hershey Park, Six Flags is definitely the next best theme park to check out.

The most embarrassing effort I have ever seen from an amusement park or any business for that matter. We came on a Sunday with pre purchased tickets (for $120 each btw) only to be greeted by the least organized entrance I have ever seen. We waited over 2 hours TO TRY TO GET INTO THE PARK. The lines were chaotic and clearly there was nowhere near enough staff to handle the crowd size. There appeared to be roughly 5 or 6 people scanning tickets for what had to be several thousand people trying to enter. Zero security controlling lines, which led to even more chaos and fights/arguments. If you are understaffed then maybe don't sell so many tickets!!! We never even entered the park after giving up with the 2 hour plus wait. Our group of 6 spent over $750 and had nothing to show for it other than a ruined Sunday.

The complete disregard for families spending their hard earned money is absolutely disgusting. Imagine scraping together enough money for your family to spend their Sunday together and then being met with this type of utter disregard. Shameful. We have already been told that there are no refunds, however, we could come back and use our tickets a different day. What kind of lunatic would subject themselves to that type of experience again. In a time when customer service is at it's lowest, it is getting tough to stand out, but congratulations Six Flags you stand alone as the shining example of what a disgraceful business looks like.

P.S. Don't bother replying to this with your automated email asking me to reach out to customer support so that they can tell me no refunds are available. Your cold and predictable reply message will perpetuate the lie that you care about the guests experiences and we shouldn't bother with that charade.
