This area is great for many things. My main use is for the trail that goes around the reservoir. It's 5 miles and has great views and is well-maintained. There are lots of benches along the way if you decide to take a break and just relax. They also have a good number of bathrooms set up along the path which is a big plus if you're drinking water during your exercise. Plenty of parking too.

we recently discovered the Manasquan Reservoir trail, that is approximately 5.6miles around. We mountain bike it twice around, early in the morning, and find it to be excellent. A few decent hills, not very technical, but great for toning up, and training. Great scenery along the trails especially close to the shore.
you will see plenty of fellow bikers, hikers, runners and dog walkers.
bring plenty of drinking water.

Had a wonderful day on the water kayaking and enjoying nature. Saw some osprey but didn't get to see the eagles, maybe next visit. Easy to get back to the ramp when it got too windy to paddle. After a few hours on the reservoir paddling its great to be able to come to land and sit watching goldfinches at the feeders....

There is such a variety at Manasquan Reservoir to spend the day outdoors- the route around the water is 5 miles and can be walked, ran, or biked.

You can start at a number of points, all of which have parking (the main entrance, Chestnut Point, and the Environmental Center). There are nice bathrooms and facilities at both the main entrance and environmental. The path leads you near the water, and through the woods. It is quite flat, but it is 5 miles so it can take time. You can decide to double back to make it shorter if you want. There are mile markers and maps at the parking lots so you can gauge it for yourself.

From the main entrance, there is also a boat dock and kayak rentals, etc. You can check out the web site for more info on that.

The walking paths are well maintained and the views of wildlife and reservoir are interesting. The facilities are clean and the fire pit in the main bldg takes the chill off cooler days.

A walk around the Manasquan Reservoir is just what the soul needs in the midst of winter. Getting in touch with nature is so healing. The visitor center was closed when I went today but the
view is superb from this location. When the seasons change the people who work there are friendly and very helpful. In the summer you can rent canoes and travel the waters. Today I followed a trail and even got off it once or twice to stand on the water's edge. Great space to connect with nature year round.

My go to place for solo runs that clear the mind. Wide soft trails -5 miles plus a little - in a serene-quite environment around a beautiful water reservoir. You get true nature connection and the trails are covered by tress, nice shade during the summer.
