A group of us attended Hunterdon Hills Playhouse and its entertainment by the Jersey Tenors. This was the Playhouse's first week after being closed for some time. The service, food (COVID cautions for handling deserts) and entertainment were superb. Our group can't wait for our next visit. The venue and its entertainment are highly recommended. Nice job Hunterdon Hills Playhouse and Jersey Tenors!

Made my first trip to the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse last night for the Christmas show. It was a phenomenal evening. The food was great. The service was great. The performers and the orchestra were great. The place was decorated beautifully. We were a party of 18 (half of us Christian; half of us Jewish), and as a jewish girl myself, the first thing i noticed when i walked in was the Christmas tree topped with a Star of David. There were also a couple of references in the show about Hanukkah, which was greatly appreciated, as my holiday is usually not recognized.

First time at the dinner theater and chose the 1pm show. We arrived at 11:30am and were seated right away. The restaurant is large and not a bad seat anywhere. We had a choice of about six entrees. The four of us chose the cod, turkey and fried shrimp dinners. All platters were good, expect banquet quality food. The rye bread on the table was very fresh and a treat. The dessert bar is huge, and has something for everyone, from cake, pies, tarts and mousse. The band and lead singer for the Karen Carpenter show was excellent. The sound quality and performance was above average. This overall is a great value. We will definitely come and see another show. Staff was very friendly.

The Irish Cabaret show would have been good if they did not spend so much time plugging their CDs, The dinning room was full and we were packed in like sardines. Getting up to use the restrooms was a task. In addition they did not have enough wait staff. There was nothing exceptional about the food. I would hesitate to go back.

The Playhouse should issue a refund when the principal passes on. The purchaser of the tickets became home bound after purchasing 3 tickets to a play and, subsequently, passed on. They have refused to refund the tickets even though they initially said they would. They offered that the purchased tickets could be used in the future. Really??? Who was supposed to use them.

When considering going to this playhouse, one should insure that the refund policy (or lack thereof) is fully understood.

Enjoyed the show but I was somewhat disappointed with the main meal. I was with a group of 10 and most meals got good reviews. Folks liked the turkey, roast beef, sole and shrimp. I had the chicken - very dry. Friend next to me had the eggplant rollatini - no cheese on top and served with mashed potatoes and veggies (no pasta available). The potato pancake option was a winner, however.

But you are there for the show, which was very well done. Live orchestra, clever dialog, great costumes. This was my second visit and I would go back for another show and just choose the turkey or beef. Gravy covers a lot of sins!

And desserts? Save room! There's a buffet room full of sweets that were quite good.

Hello Marge, Thank you for leaving a review here on Trip Advisor for the Playhouse and your comments regarding your groups meal choices and their enjoyment of their entrees. For your dining choice of chicken for your entree, and for future reference, at any time you attend a show and would like to address a concern with your meal, feel free to touch base with our wait staff, a manager, or even our box office receptionist, who will all be more than happy to hear your concerns. We are glad you enjoyed the show, and hope to see all of you again in the future!

I am a regular at the playhouse, but I feel I need to express my disappointment with a show we attended two weeks ago. We attended the Roy Orbison show a year or two ago and loved it, so we decided to go again this year. My husband loved the opening band last time, so we were excited to see them again. They were supposed to be doing a rock and roll show, but they decided to represent that genre with songs by Connie Francis, Etta James and Patsy Cline. Most of the rest of their performance featured instumentals featuring drum solos, not what I expected from a rock and roll band. I hoped the second act would be better, but it seems to me it might be time for a Roy impersonator that can not hit most of Roy's notes to move on to a different act. We love this venue, food is great, service is excellent and most shows are very enjoyable, but wanted to let you know that this one did not hit the mark.

We originally scheduled a wedding reception at the location with the date being nearly 1 1/2 years in advance. Within a month, our daughter had a change of heart and wanted the beach wedding she always dreamed of. We requested a return of a $500 deposit which Hunterdon Hills Playhouse did not have to do but thought, as there was well over a year to re-book, it would be a show of good faith. The manager did not even have the courtesy to return our phone call or reply to e-mails.

Good afternoon John. We believe you are referencing a wedding that was booked for August 2016, with a contract signed in December of 2014, and abruptly cancelled by you in March of 2015 via email. It has always been our policy that any wedding or banquet deposits are non-refundable, as clearly stated up front and acknowledged by you when you signed the contract and made your initial $500.00 deposit. Our Special Events Manager was very polite and punctual when replying to each of your multiple emails asking for a refund on your deposit as well. We apologize that you were upset after our final email conversation when our owner did not reach out to you. However, as a date had been on hold for you and thus unavailable to other brides, he would have only issued a refund to you if we rebooked your cancelled date. We are sorry to see you felt leaving a bad review was in order. Here at Hunterdon Hills Playhouse, we are accommodating and respectful to our brides, grooms, and their families from the first moment they contact us, and continue to do so throughout their wedding planning. Our couples have had nothing but wonderful things to say about their experiences here at the Playhouse, as one can see from our multiple five star reviews on Wedding Wire and TheKnot. We hope your daughter had a wonderful wedding two years ago, and wish you all the best.

This was my first time at this particular dinner theater and it won't be my last! The venue itsitself is large, attractive and has beautiful views from the plentiful windows. The food was good and I liked that you could order off of a menu rather than it being a buffet. Our server Tegan was fabulous! The highlight of the meal is the dessert table which is served buffet style. Everything I tried was delicious! The show itself was professionally staged and the actors were delightful. I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon here. Highly recommended. Easy to find, plentiful parking. No need for a bus trip if you like to drive yourself. Lots of tables for two or four in addition to seating for larger groups. Easy to see and hear from any seat.
