It is no wonder why General George Washington picked this spot to look over British troop movements.

This park has been a Family favorite for 50 years now. Just to stand at this overlook and see the surrounding area that General Washington planned his strategy from. Anyone passing through this area on Route 22 should take some time to visit this historic...More

This park has nothing much to offer history wise, but it's a nice little place to visit and have lunch or whatever. Nice view of Manhattan, and a couple of picnic tables, but there's nothing else here except a plaque and an outline of a...More

I took my daughter here because George Washington once stood in this area when the Brits were invading the valley below. The view is breathtaking! Worth a visit.

Great view, even better during winter months. Good place to reflect on our history and to gain an appreciation of what soldiers had to endure by walking everywhere during the Revolutionary War

This small area requires a minimum of walking. There is a limited wooded area for hiking but across the road is the main attraction: a monument to George Washington, who commanded colonial troops from here and used the mountain top to observe the British troop...More

The park is at a great height in the mountains. We went there on July 4th and saw fireworks happening in many parts of NJ state. Though from far but it was an awesome experience.

Being a Revolutionary War history buff, I recently visited here to soak in the incredible view George Washington had of troop movements throughout his campaign of the Summer of 1777, a pivotal year for our battle for independence. Seeing what he saw and understanding his...More

This is a small park, but there is an amazing view from the first row of mountains that divide north from central New Jersey. On a clear day you can also see Manhattan.

Not much else. See the view Washington had. Go on clear day. Then go have lunch or bring one. Not much here but cool nonetheless.

The walk on the trail takes about 5 - 7 minutes. Don't bother with this place unless you want to park, see rock and leave - there is nothing there!
