View for Miles
Feb 2020
This is a small but noteworthy historical site where General Washington viewed the British troupes during the months of May and June 1777 of the American Revolutionary War. Wonderful year round view of the surrounding area and easy to get to by car.

Great stop for a pleasant view of NJ/NY. Line of sight is as far as you can see on a clear day. Historical markers, etc. Parking limited.

Great views and great place to bike to.
Apr 2019
I have biked here a few times, and it is always a nice challenge biking up the mountain. It is a relief when I see the entrance to the park coming up. The view from the top, though, is worth the climb. On a clear day, you can see for miles; and the view on a cloudy day has its own beauty. Bring a quarter so you can look through the telescope at the top. The best time to come is probably fall so you can see all of the autumn foliage laid out below.

A great small park in Bridgewater area to get a quick workout, views of the creek and reservoir, I see a lot of people fishing, see lot of youngsters at the waterfall. Spring and fall are best times.

A must visit when in the area
Jun 2019 • Family
George Washington was here. That's all that should be needed to be said. Place is off the beaten path a bit, but easy to find off ft 22. The view is spectacular . Easily the reason Washington found this place useful to spy on the English. On a clear day you see the spectacular NYC skyline. Really amazing spot

Great View, Simple Place
May 2018 • Solo
Washington Rock is a simple place. I wouldn't say it has a "WOW Effect," but if you're in the area, it's definitely something to check out. You can see the New York City skyline from the lookout which is cool! There's also little hiking trails around the area to explore. There's not a lot of parking, but I've never had a problem finding a spot. You don't need to spend to much time here. I live about 30 minutes away and I've spent many days here just relaxing.

It is no wonder why General George Washington picked this spot to look over British troop movements.

I took my daughter here because George Washington once stood in this area when the Brits were invading the valley below. The view is breathtaking! Worth a visit.

Great view, even better during winter months. Good place to reflect on our history and to gain an appreciation of what soldiers had to endure by walking everywhere during the Revolutionary War
