We are fans of Maestro Bob Butts the conductor. We attend his lectures and this orchestra always provides a pleasant couple of hours with old classics and newer compositions. The orchestra is competent...filled with excellent local musicians who take their work seriously. The venues are usually excellent and comfortable, especially St. Elizabeth's. Mr. Butts usually gives the audience a short synopsis of what the music is about which adds a lot to appreciating everything. The only negative thing I can say is that the audience members, some of them, are really ignorant about being polite to those around them...and I'm not talking about youngsters, but seniors who just are inconsiderate...thinking, perhaps, that their age entitles them to be thoughtless of others. The people on stage are great.

Don't be fooled by the name, this dynamic orchestra does not limit itself only to the music of the Baroque period. Their four concert season encompasses all musical periods including the premieres of new modern classical works. You are just as likely to hear Beethoven, Dvorak or Mahler as you are to hear Bach or Mozart. The orchestra also offers summer music festival which includes concerts, chamber music, cabarets and full opera performances. Performances are held at the lovely Dolan Performance Hall on the campus of The College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown which has ample and convennient parking. Ticket prices are quite reasonable.
