Endangered wolf species rescue site. See four packs (3-5 each) of Grey and Arctic wolves up close. Visitors are bused (or you can walk) about 1/2 mile to enclosures. Talk given is about 2 hours & very informative. Cold when I was there so dress for the weather, you are outside the whole time. Also on site is rescued Red... More

This preserve is well maintained and the owners have a true love for their animals. Their presentation about the different kinds of wolves, and their habitat gives you a very good understanding of how well they can adapt to their environment. We are planning on going back again with our grandchildren. This is a must see if you have any... More

Got to see up close and personal the wolves, foxes, and bobcats. Wonderful educational experience, although I would have appreciated more time with the wolves and less time with the foxes and bobcats.

We just went for a tour on Sunday at 4:30pm. The couple who run this sanctuary are trying to do the right thing under sometimes difficult circumstances. They are very informative, very in-depth. Be prepared to stand on your feet for almost 2 hours while the tours are happening. It is almost a bit too long, but it is interesting.... More

My husband and I took our grandsons, ages 5 and 7, to Lakota in August. On the weekends, you don't need reservations, but there are set times for the tours. It's waaay back into the woods on a very hilly access road. It's both a wolf preserve and a campground. We were all very excited to see the wolves, but... More

Can't give Lakota Wolf Preserve enough positive stars. Facility is outstanding and Jim and Becky are amazing in their care and concern for these wolves that we can see up close and learn some interesting facts about them. Tour is a good 1-1/2 hrs with a side view and lecture about bobcats, foxes, etc. I have taken friends from nearby... More

Thank you for the review, just to clarify not all monies go to the preserve. part of the admission fee goes to the property owners not the preserve. and the gift store belongs to the campground not the preserve. we are very happy you enjoyed your visit. we look forward to seeing you again. More

Each guide provided an tranquil and informative session with the rescued wildlife on the preserve. I loved hearing about the animals, and seeing them in their roomy enclosures, playing and howling on cue. The tour bus provided a comfortable ride to the preserve and the staff was very pleasant and made the trip a most worthwhile experience.

Don't come here expecting to pet them or interact with them. They are wild animals and the couple who runs the preserve does an outstanding job educating the tour about them. You will see them pretty close. It's worth the time and money for the tour. They do have a handicapped bus available to take you to the Preserve. There... More
