Affordable tickets get you onto a tractor-pulled wagon for a ride around the orchard with a stop by a corn maze, then a pumpkin patch and back to the festivities. What makes it different and cool is the darkness, which makes a flashlight a must for the maze. Besides the above, cold and hot (although with a hint of coffee taste) apple cider is included for the evening. Roasted sweet corn is sold at $3.99, ice cream is fairly priced, but lacks in quality. We've tasted maple/appple swirl soft served and it was loaded with ice pieces. Must admit, I might be biased after tasting a maple creemee in Vermont. 2 fire pits where going for the evening and marshmallows were for sale at the counter. Avoid wearing synthetic clothing around the fire, at times it was impressively large with a lot of potential for holes in your garments from the flying hot ash. The store was still open and live entertainment was filling air with country vibes. Main downsides: most workers were unable to provide any directions due to the language barrier and the food selection was, mildly put, limited. Some smoked meats would've gone well with the roasted corn. I didn't visit the wine tasting area, but it looked inviting. One of the cute surprises was the enclosure with some horses, donkeys and sheep who can feed and pet. Might go back to pick some sunflowers, but the entry fee for picking is much higher than the Harvest Moon Hayride so I'm on a fence about that...unless I leave the kids at home! Overall, we al enjoyed the farm!

We went PYO yesterday in the afternoon. This was our first and we had a good experience with picking. The sweet corn was absolutely heavenly. We picked tomatoes, beets, yams I think, cilantro, sweet corn, egg plant and apples.

The reason why I gave a three star is the lack of enforcing safety protocols during covid 19. After talking to them several times and prepurchasing the PYO tickets, we had to stand in line for more than 30 minutes. The crowd was unbelievable. A specific religious group from NY was everywhere. We later found out that this week is some kind of religious festival season. They were out in droves. While most of them were respectful of mask up requirements, there were quite a lot of them who did not abide by it. Ours was the only NJ vehicle and every other car in the row was from NY. I am quite confident that these were from NYC where the covid 19 is spiking among neighborhoods congregating during festival season. A lot of these shoppers once inside the farm did not wear masks. But it was outdoors and it is a huge farm. We were very uncomfortable riding the wagon or go into the store or use the mazes as we may run into unmasked adults and the zillion kids. We did not see the clerk sanitizing her hands after handling credit card transactions.

The bags are really small but we did not mind as a lot of produce was wasted mindlessly and we saw people eating corn and apples even though it was prohibited and half eaten produce was strewn everywhere. We are senior citizens and paid for all the unnecessary other stuff. I wish they had two categories just PYO and the whole farm with other activities. While NJeans are trying so hard to combat this very contagious virus, it is very disheartening to see people from other states come into our backyard with toal disregard for our safety requirements and potentially spread the virus and the business owners stand by and do not enforce their own rules. For this reason, this became a very unpleasant experience and will not recommend this for senior citizens.

Hello Usha. Since these challenging times began, we have followed all state and CDC guidelines and have put in proper protocols to make sure guests and staff are safe. To this day, with the protocols in place, we have been able to safely offer guests the ability to be outside and enjoy nature at our farm. In addition, we have been able to provide essential food to thousands of individuals throughout the region. Please feel free to give me a call to discuss your recent visit if you would like: 908-879-7189. Kyle - Alstede Farms

We bought tickets for timed entry expecting to have a roomy visit for covid times but it was still very packed with people. The corn maze, pony rides was fun and apple picking was plentiful. The staff is nice and there was an good band playing . Know that you have to pay extra for anything you pick above the little bag they give you. Lots of lines (20 min wait) for food and pony rides and the parking lot was full when we entered and left so I don’t think they turned anyone away. Understand they need to make a profit but it just felt too crowded.

What are rip off!! We went to PYO on Friday 8/6 with group 3 and get charged $69.28, I asked them why we got charged extra $15 compare their online price? they told me the $15 is the labor fee to sell 3 tickets! I spoke with Kyle and explained to him that nobody ever mentioned that extra charge to us before, if i I knew that I would purchased the tickets online myself. He told me that dependent on who sell me the ticket, not all their employee knew that, they assuming all their customer aware of that already, there is nothing they can do about even they know I am really really upset! I spend over 10 min on the phone with him, he did not even apologize or try to comfort me. What a horrible day!!! This is the worst customer service I ever had, your company made mistake and you blamed on your customer? I will never visit this farm again and will share my horrible experience to the people I know, absolutely not recommend this place to anyone!

Make sure you choose a day that might not be so crowed so you can enjoy all it has. to offer. The tractor rides around the farm were very efficient. We picked apples, 3 kinds of eggplants and really enjoyed the sunflower maze. The homemade icecream is delicious. Everything costs "extra" but there are no signs saying so and you need to buy tickets at the ticket booth. Paid $10 for a short pony ride but I didn't mind helping the farm during these difficult times. It was wonderful for my kids to participate in choosing their dinner items and seeing where they come from.

Enjoyed the corn maze (even though the website said it wasn't open yet, it was), was such fun figuring out child and adult routes. The evergreen maze was cute for children. The sunflower maze was essentially just a path through sunflowers, nothing maze-like at all, so a bit of a letdown. The apples were falling off the trees but many rows said no picking yet. Still, we managed to fill our 3 little bags with an array of tasty items. At $19.99 per person it's not cheap but it was lovely way to spend time in the fresh air.

Alstede Farm is simply amazing! The fields are vast with an assortment of sunflowers,  apples,, pumpkins, and other fruits/vegetables. I came to pick apples but left with those and everything else. The farm is huge and you could walk but the wagon ride is way more fun. The fair portion has delicious corn, apple cider, and if your over 21 theres wine tasting. Winning! The store carries a variety of foods like cheeses, coffee, maple syrups, desserts and more. The farm sell their own personal products, which are delicious. All the while there is a live band playing upbeat tunes. Almost forgot to mention the sweet and friendly animals. They come right up to you to say hello and of course are looking for a snack. I truly enjoyed myself ans will definitely go next year, its worth the $25 fee.

Instead of going all the way through Chester to the large and busy Alstede Farm to get our fruit , corn and veggies we stopped by the Alstede Farm Stand on the other side of Chester Rte 24 (Hwy 510) toward Mendham. It’s a nice small seasonal farm stand and great for those who don’t like crowds. Of course the kids will want to go to the main Alstede Farm to pick their own peaches and apples or see the animals. Since we’re older we prefer going to this Alstede Farm Stand which is a lot easier.

Absolutely rediculous cost of admission!!!! $90 for 3 people. Wanted to pick apples but not at that cost. To make matters worst, we were given a very small plastic bag to collect the apples. What an insult! I will not recommend this place to anyone due to the extremely high cost of admission. This is gauging at its worst!

Hello and thank you for visiting our farm recently. Our Pick Your Own ticket is an all-encompassing ticket this year which means each guest receives the following: Access to the PYO fields, corn maze, sunflower fields, wagon rides to and from the fields, a container, the cost of the pre-approved produce to fill each container, live music, and more. With the guidelines provided by the state and the CDC, we feel that this is the best way to conduct business this year. This not only helps us adhere to guidelines but also helps guests to safely enjoy their visit. If you would like to discuss your recent experience further, please feel free to give me a call at your convenience: 908-879-7189. Kyle - Alstede Farms

The people working there are incredibly nice. Went there this weekend with my puppy and I was told I couldn't bring her on the field because of COVID. However, the employees went above and beyond to make sure I could still get the breakfast and overall the best experience. Would definitely come back!
