So much to see and do. Have fun and learn at the same time. I saw things here I never saw at any other place like this Adults won't be bored, either!

Went here with our 19 month old, as well as his 8 and 10 year old cousins. He had a great time exploring all the areas and trying everything out. There were some things he was a little too small for and some kids got a little pushy at times, but there is a lot to do here and a great place to spend about 3 hours. The older kids enjoyed it too, but mostly to spend time with their baby cousin. Lots of cool areas. The staff needs to be a little more attentive to messes building up around the areas, but nothing crazy. A little expensive and adults have to pay full price, which is lame. But it's great for a fun, rainy afternoon.

We were here about a year ago when our son was only 10 months old and there was not much for him to do. THere is a toddler area that he enjoyed at that time and this time as well, but I would recommend waiting until your child is walking to come here.

The museum is all hands on and encourages children to use their imagination. The prices at the café are reasonable.

Went on tues. feb.25; 2020 for a day visit. Nearly everything there was broken, torn or chipped. The entire place was in need of a good cleaning. Half of the hand sanitizers were empty. At $30 admission for an adult and a three year old, the facilities should be functional. An additional insult was that if you child wants the “sports area”, there is an additional $10 fee!
The snack area is filthy. And cluttered. The floor looked liked it hadn’t been washed in weeks, with debris littering everywhere. The tables were not cleaned after use. The attendant, who could have done some cleaning, just sat playing on his phone. Overall, this is a disgrace. Will not return.

Many things need fresh coat of paint. Some things need dusting/cleaning. Hand sanitizer in barn area was empty.Very loud because of echoing. Spend the extra money and go to Phila for PTM. Gift-shop is expensive.

I was extremely disappointed at the interior of this museum. There is no natural light and it looks like it hasn't been updated in ages. Whoever manages this space needs to visit some other museums and see how it should be done. It is too cramped for the space. Several sections were inaccessible. The lighting is poor and exhibits are old. Toddlers will probably enjoy this place but it's not really a "museum" - it's more the size of a play place. There was a party going on somewhere and they blocked off some exhibits and were vacuuming, there was stuff all over some tables that were not part of the museum, fake wrapped up boxes that were ripped apart, wires are showing in places, stuff that should be stored away is visible, not all play pieces are in their areas, and pieces are missing. I probably will not go back. This may be a harsh review - but it's the truth. The manager really should care a little more about presentation. I used a Groupon for admission, and in my opinion, I spent way too much even with that. I'd say a fair price for this "museum" would be $5 or less.

My kids always have a fun time at the Garden State Discovery Museum. My only issue is that they rarely change or update the attractions. My children don't seem to mind so I give it a thumbs up. It also doesn't hurt that it's free for educators.

The staff is very indifferent to the guests. The video on the web site would have you believe that it is largely visited by 3-7 year olds when there always seem to be 9, 10, and 11 year olds dominating many of the attractions. I agree with other opinions, the place really could use a make over, many things are banged up and in need of repair.

I didn't think the museum was terrible, but neither did I leave thinking it was a wonderful experience either. The best way I could describe it was that it was an average children's museum - an OK place to take the kids for a couple of hours but nothing to write home about either.

The museum is all on one floor and is about the size of a department store. It looks like a warehouse that was converted into a children's museum and the lighting was not great. A few of the exhibits did not function properly and some looked well worn. My daughter did enjoy it however, especially the sports area and the diner. It's good for a 2-3 hour visit. On the day we visited, they were supposedly having a Caribbean Festival. I could not find it until I noticed a flyer on the wall saying it was in classroom 4. After getting some assistance to find this classroom, the "festival" consisted of a craft table where kids could color masks or make a necklace. This wasn't such a big deal as you would have thought on their website.

The museum is #16 on Parents Magazine list of the best children's museums. I think this ranking is too high, especially considering that the Pittsburgh Children's Museum comes in at #26 and that was much better. I don't mean to be too critical. The kids can have fun there. It's just that I've been to some very impressive children's museum and I wouldn't put this one in a short list of the best ones.

Kids love this place, and adults love watching them have fun here. Wonderful stations where you can make believe you are a TV newsperson, restaurant worker, shipman, veterinarian, vegetable/fruit shopkeeper, etc., in addition to doing craft projects, enclosing yourself in a bubble and many other activities. Whata fun place!
