Worst experience ever. Today, my girlfriend I had confirmed appts for massages and facials. We arrived at the salon early and checked in. They took my friend back and I waited for my scheduled time. I sat there for an hour and a half. I walked up to the receptionist that checked us in and asked how much longer before I was taken back -she told me about 5 more minutes. About 10 minutes later there was all kinds of chaos and conversations going on where I overhead my friend’s and my name mentioned. Then a woman approached me stating that she was the massage therapist who was suppose to do my massage but due to confusion ended up taking my friend and that the woman scheduled to do my friend’s massage called out sick. So while all of this was happening my friend whom I was trying to treat to the spa for her birthday was left in her room and her massage interrupted. She offered to do a 30 min massage for my friend and then take me for 30 minutes (um, I paid for a 60 minutes for each of us) I told the woman to just forget about me and give me a refund for the services I purchased as I was not coming back. Then a manager walked up to me offering a poor excuse of an “apology” and a “complimentary” facial only to quickly walk away and never returning to check in with me. This salon is clearly poorly managed. The receptionist not friendly or caring about their clients as she never mentioned anything about an issue with their employee being out sick and lied to me when I asked when I’ll be called for my appt. If you are thinking of trying this salon DON’T BOTHER !!!! If you go there on regular bases good for you if you are ok with their substandard customer service as my experience was THE WORST I’ve ever received from a salon. I would NEVER return and am embarrassed that my birthday gift to my friend was memorable for the bad service she received.

I was given a gift Groupon for a facial and mani-pedi, which I used recently. I then saw a Groupon for the same services and bought it, ( the first having been a gift). I was refused services as I 'was not a new client' and ' you can't use it for 6 months.'; The offer expires in 3 months. I explained that the one I used was a gift and it didn't seem to matter. I was able to get my money back from Groupon, thank you, but will probably never go to this spa for any services due to poor customer services.
In their favor the services, the services I did receive were lovely. I especially liked my mani-pedi. The front desk was another thing. I advise against giving this as a gift unless you know the person has not been to the salon before.

I received gift cards for Spa Finder, and Bernard's Day Spa participates in that program. So, I decided to schedule a manicure and pedicure. I was warmly greeted, taken exactly at my scheduled time by Thao. I was offered a beverage by the receptionist, by Thao and by another technician during the time I was there - about 90 minutes total. I found the place to be very clean. I thought it was pricey ($17 regular manicure and $45 pedicure) but I was able to redeem the gift card with no problem. I would go back as a treat.

I enjoyed the therapeutic massage that I reserved however, it was not a complete relaxing experience because the spa is so very busy. I could hear the patrons and staff outside my massage room. When escorted to my pedicure station it was so busy and noisy that it diminished my sense of relaxation. During my visit there were two pre-teen boys in the waiting area yelling out to their mother who was getting her hair done. They were so loud that the receptionist was startled. Not the atmosphere I would suggest if you want to relax or get pampered.

Tried to go to my usual Asian place for a mani pedi but they had a wait. I had a gift certificate for $200 I got as a gift so I thought I would get my mani pedi at Bernard's and when I called and booked it I thought I could also get a haircut since my certificate was so much. The girl that did my pedicure was so bad I passed on the manicure. It was the worst pedicure I have had ever. 4 coats of polish later I couldn't take anymore. My haircut was ok, the blowout was good but I was burned by the dryer a few times. I can't believe they are still in business. 2 thumbs down.

I purchased a Groupon for a 1-hour facial with eye treatment, and then went for the $20 "upgrade" when I got there that included a "personalized eye treatment" and something about extra care given to the arms, legs and feet. Well, the facial lasted about 40 minutes, and never once did she touch my eye area except to lay a wet paper towel there. The "foot treatment" consisted of a plastic bag and a heated slipper on each foot - no lotion, no nothing. The worst part was when she suddenly stopped everything and just sat there. I have heated mittens on my hands and feet, heat is coming up from the table, I can't see anything, and she's sitting next to me just breathing for a full 5 minutes...no explanation...just as I was about to ask what we were doing (naptime?) she started to "massage" my shoulders. I don't believe she has basic anatomy knowledge, and my forearms are still sore from her repeated thumb presses there. My skin didn't look any different today - no glow, no improvement - I'll never go back.

Today my sister-in-law and I did a girls day out for a facial and a massage. The massage was one of the best I ever had. She's been doing it since 2008 and is an expert in her field. The facial did not go so well. 30 minutes into the facial the esthetician said, "I'll be right back". 15 minutes later she comes back in. I wasn't sure if she was going to come back and I was in fear my face was going to have a reaction to whatever was left on so long. So much for being relaxing! Then upon check out, the receptionist makes you log on to Groupon supposedly from your Groupon code. I told them it was given to the receptionist when I booked the appointment. I didn't have the app and everything I do it on a computer that logs in. Took 15- 20 minutes to download the app and login! Then you have to give your personal cell phone to the reception who redeems your Groupon! So unprofessional! Other then the massage therapist being excellent, huge thumbs down for everything else!

They do a great job at this salon, and I've always been happy with my hair when I get it done here. However, the receptionists are so unbelievably rude and make you feel very uncomfortable.

I have been to Bernard's many times over the years. I think the hair cuts and mani-pedis are overpriced for what you get. I don't feel pampered or even noticed while I am getting a service done. The salon is busy, but the operators only seem to talk to each other. Last time I was there, a few weeks ago, there were 4or 5 girls behind the desk. I was not acknowledged when trying to check in or out.

I will say that I have always had a good massage here- so I put up ( but should not have to) with the lack of professionalism. And will go somewhere else in a heartbeat if the massages are less expensive.

I have heard that there are new owners, my hope is that they bring professionalism and a more welcoming feel back to the salon. If not, Groupons are the only way I will visit!

I have my hair done here for many years. I use the same talented stylist. Deena and the colorist I see on occasion is Diane. I must be happy with the place I have been going there for at least 20 years.

Three of my family members just went to Bernards to have their hair done for my son's wedding. One of them was my 92-year old. When Joseph finished with her, she looked beautiful! My sister and daughter also looked beautiful as well. Highly recommend.
