Open from June 20th through September 20th, from 10 AM to 4 PM, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Leaming's Run Gardens is a charming series of flower gardens nestled into acres of native woodlands in Cape May County, New Jersey. The shady path leads you past a bamboo grove, an expansive cinnamon fernery, and many beautiful vistas created by the themed flower plantings. The gardens were created by the Aprill family to preserve the centuries old woodlands and wetlands that are home to many rare native plants, and to create a relaxing place for visitors to escape from the pace of modern life. Family owned and operated for 36 years, the gardens are supported solely through admission fees. No outside funding has ever been received. Hummingbirds are plentiful in August. We hope you will visit, relax, and leave refreshed. We appreciate the support the garden has received from our guests over the years.Jack, Emily, Gregg and Missie Aprill

Haven't been here in a few years, but what a beautiful setting. Best to visit in the Spring, it gets very hot walking the trails. Bring your camera, you can get some beautiful shots. Also wear your walking shoes. I would say it takes a few hours to walk all through. But it is worth it.

Let me start by saying I used to love this place as a kid. I have found memories of going there and exploring the Colonial farm house, kitchen garden, and seeing the farm animals. I was there about 5 years ago and found it much like I remembered, so when I went this past Friday in late September I was... More

Not much of a garden. Not worth the price… any price. Grounds are poorly designed and maintained. The owner must consider himself to be an authority on hummingbirds. He will bore you with his babble on the topic.

The flowers and plants are just beautiful and the small wildlife and insect inhabitants are exciting to spot. We saw a bunch of hummingbird very close up...amazing.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of South Jersey and enjoy a beautiful, naturalist setting, then this is the place for you! The owners have lovingly preserved and tended 50 acres in this naturalist setting. Peaceful, tranquil and well worth the small price of admission! Something the children will absolutely love -- all of the... More

Such beautiful gardens I had to go back a second time in one week!!!! I loved the Lilly pad lake with the turtles and frogs, the waterfall is just serene, and the bamboo forest is just magical! I am also looking forward to their Halloween walk through when they turn it into Screamings Run. I am really impressed and will... More

I have driven past this garden for years on my way to the shore. My sister and I decided to take a day trip to finally see it. We had to pay 8 dollars each and after slowly walking through the path we were done in under 10 minutes. This year the gardens are by color but most had very... More

Great experience on how things were done hundreds of years ago. The gardens of how things such as tobacco, cotton and vegetables were grown years ago was interesting. The cooking hearths looked great and homey.
