- GlobeTrotting6826211 contributionGreat Script, Great Acting, Great Play!I truly enjoyed seeing The Garbologists last night at the Cape May Stage—witty, well written and a relatable script acted by two wonderful, talented actors. Michael Basile and Serena Ebony Miller did a fabulous job in this one act play—if you’re looking for an enjoyable evening in Cape May, definitely see this one before it ends on October 22. This was the third and final play for the summer—another great summer of professional theatre—I’m looking forward to the 2024 season already!Visited October 2023Traveled soloWritten October 7, 2023

We attend Cape May Stage each year we come down since the middle 80's with wonderful plays all dramas. They over the years have used technology with ordering tickets online but can be also bought at the door. Online, if you are familiar with the seating, can select you choice. There are also three restrooms for you use if you need to before attending the plays. Over the years they have improved many of the features of the hall with audience type of seating, sound and lighting. The selections of the plays are great. There is very little ones that we have not attended on our stay while at Cape May. There are many very good and known restaurants around to dine before attending the play. Some plays have a intermission and others play straight thru. Research the play you would like to see around the time you will be staying at Cape May.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 7, 2023

- Lighthouse725Cape May Point, New Jersey19 contributionsThe best entertainment value in New Jersey!Cape May Stage offers Broadway level programming, not Broadway prices. My wife and I are partial season tickets for the 20th plus year. Our biggest issue is deciding which presents to see. The theater has never disappointed! There are no bad seats. Period. Cape May Stage is a part of our lives and always will be.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 22, 2023
- Kimberly M43 contributionsPleasantly SurprisedThis was my first time at Cape May Stage, but it won’t be my last. It’s a very small venue so any seat in the house was close to the stage. Garbologist was better than expected with only two actors and a very clever set arrangement. Great performance and storyline!Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten October 25, 2023

Lighting and sound all made the evening a true treasure of my Christmas 2023 memories. Thank you!Visited November 2023Traveled with friendsWritten November 25, 2023

We are “members” and see every show at Cape May Stage, but this was one of the best! The actors were professional…having lots of memorization…and the costume changes!! Oh my!! 2 men did 22 characters!! Go. See. This. Production!!!Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 30, 2023
- Cheri DYardville, New Jersey499 contributionsGreat little seashore theaterThis was our first time back in a number of years. We had some errands to do in Cape May and one was a stop at Cape May Stage to see a hilarious play called "A Tuna Christmas". Being it is Christmastime, the outsided was beautifully decorated with lights, as is all of Cape May this time of year. We were greeted and welcomed by the artistic director when we walked in. The box office manager asked us for our names, and someone else escorted us to our seats in this small theater. All were very welcoming and pleasant. The bathrooms are very clean and male/female so that makes it more gender diverse. I believe that bottled water is sold for refreshments. We left for home afterwards and when we arrived, we found a message on our telephone from the box office manager that a key was found under one of our seats and to call the next day. It wasn't ours, but we did call to let them know, such courteous play deserved a call back to let them know. We hope to be back for another play or so next season!Visited December 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 9, 2023
- Jack R1 contributionIf You Want A Laugh, Don't Miss This Show!Simply hilarious! If you are old enough to remember the comedy team of Bob & Ray, that's what came to mind with the opening set and continued throughout. Quick, dry humor mixed with overt humor was constant. The actors were simply amazing! They had me and the audience laughing out loud for the entire show.....amazing how the humor has, for the most part, held up over the years.. Well done!Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten December 14, 2023

We totally agree with Vdegiamimo's review of One Christmas Carol currently playing at Cape May Stage through end of this year. This is an intimate nice theatre with no bad seat. This play is drama not comedy and extremely well produced and well acted. It runs about 90 minutes without intermission. We highly recommend it.

Shirley Valentine was a wonderfully touching play. Cady McLain was a triumph as Shirley. She moved your heart from joy to dispair in moments and then grabbed you agian to show you the hope that is in life! I was captivated for two hours! The show was wonderfully directed and acted. You couldn't ask for a better time at the theatre.
The Cape May stage is a brite diamond in the priceless jewelry that is Cape May. Please take the time to come and enjoy this wonderful place with its wonderful cast of people!

After seeing Shirley Valentine 💘 the first time, I just had to come back!
The second time was even more rewarding! Cady McClain freely expressed every nuance of her character’s conflicting emotions,
adding humor at every turn, each gesture skillfully taking her audience along on her journey. A delight!

We just saw the final performance of 'Art' at Cape May Stage. We invited guests from the Netherlands and we all loved the show. The acting was superb and the intimate space is ideal for theatre. And a professional performance for the price? Outstanding. One of our Dutch friends said is was among the top 3 theatre experiences of her life.

The Garbologists was an unexpected delightful play. The actors were terrific and took us on a ride of sadness, laughter, anger, joy as two people who barely know each other find a way to bind at work, connections through their past and their current situation.
Highly recommended. No intermission.

I saw Shirley Valentine with a few friends. The theater is very intimate - every seat has a great view. You almost feel part of the production. The play was a wonderful one- woman performance that was touching & funny. The actress I already liked, as she played Dixie on All My Children. The standing ovation at the end of the play, clearly showed how well she performed. A very entertaining evening!

Just saw a performance of One Christmas Carol at Cape May Stage. What a joy! One actor, New York actor Max Baker, playing some 20+ characters in this interpretation of a Christmas classic. An intimate theater. Baker fills the stage. So worth seeing and is just an hour and 20 minutes long.

Are there any performances that are kid friendly? Our kids ages are 6, 11, 13, 14, & 17.

Hello, thank you for your question. I am sorry but at this time we do not have any children friendly performances. We suggest looking at Cape May Convention hall as they do have children friendly programming in the summer, The Ocean City Players as well as the PAC center in Middle township.
