Lovely winery with good collection of wines
We just stopped in and got flights of wine, not a formal tasting. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The wines wer were all very good compared to some other wineries I have visited that could use some help. The outside seating was pleasantly arranged but the bees were a little intimidating it that is to be expected when outside. We could have moved inside but it was such a beautiful day….

Definitely have to visit this winery!
What a beautiful winery! The grounds are amazing flowers all over, We came for a late lunch, Season was our server. She was excellent very friendly answered every question we had. The wines she suggested were outstanding. The cab was my favorite. The food was just as good. We will definitely be back again.

Beautiful hidden vineyard on the island
We were here for a wedding. The winery is located on the island, which is astonishing when you think of how much property costs. Very impressive. The vineyard goes all the way back and there’s 2 large buildings that are a reception hall & restaurant. Lots of outdoor seating & fire pits. The vines were dormant, but it must be spectacular in the summer/fall. We’ll have to come back !

Non beachy mood but they offer a peaceful and wonderful dinner time
We are returning customers. It’s always good to come back - very peaceful to see the vineyard while eating. It gets more popular as we saw more parking lot. Food was consistent, pretzel is highly recommended as always followed by deviled eggs but we thought it’s a bit Shirinklatiion- we thought they served more pieces but only 4 now… same as the size of bisque. But all were delicious, amazing and relaxing ambience.

Great selection of wines and cheeses
Very nice winery restaurant. We got a modest meal, the crab cake sandwich which was very good, and with the best French fries I've ever had.. They have various appetizers, soups, and sandwiches. We got the "manchego cheese" appetizer with grapes, walnuts, and olives. This was sheep cheese, very good. Of course they had a large selection of wines. We got the "Flight" sampler, with 3 different kinds of wine. Very nice place.

    Family dinner
We were 16 people young to adult. The service was excellent, the food was very tasty and the atmosphere was so pleasant. The waitress did not rush us to order, and added another plate when asked later. It was displays nicely bring the appetite to its best.

A little disappointed....Once you get on the property, there are small signs posted directing you to the tasting house. If you go at night, there are no street lights on the property making it hard to see anything. The tasting room itself is very pretty. Wines are tasty and they have some interesting fruit flavored ones you can try. However- the negative outweighed the positive here. A group of four went to the Winery for dinner (we had a 6:oo PM-7:30PM reservation). We were sat and then told at 6:20 that we needed to order because the kitchen closed at 6:30....WHAT??? We ordered some apps and dinner. The courses came out 5 minutes apart making us feel rushed. You might be able to get over this if the food was good. It was average at best and not particularly hot. I ordered a grilled cheese and tomato soup. The soup was slightly warm and the grilled cheese was more bread than cheese. By 6:45 they had shut off the lights in the main entry and employees were pretty much packing up to go home. This created a very unwelcoming environment. They accept reservations through 6:00 so if they didn't want to serve us (we were not the only table occupied), then they should stop reservations earlier. Based on my experience I wouldn't recommend this place for more than a quick stop to do a little wine tasting. Don't waste your time or money eating here.

Superb surroundings, tasty wine but extremely poor service and food. My wife and I made a reservation for Tuesday, 8/18 for dinner/drinks. This is probably the 4th or 5th time we have been here. It was very crowded and parking was limited. Unfortunately, table space was limited and we were put in a location under a tent but in full sun - no biggie as we wore sunglasses. After ordering a glass or red and my wife the Aloha Float (sangria with dole whip), we also ordered some food. My wife ordered the Jersey Peach salad with grilled chicken and I ordered the scallops wrapped in bacon at $16. It took quite a while for the food to be delivered. I really enjoyed the scallops, but at a price of $16, I would think there would be more than just 4 scallops.

My wife's salad arrived without the grilled chicken and had only a tiny amount of goat cheese. She decided to forgo the grilled chicken and the staff brought her a small condiment cup of goat cheese. After she put it on her salad then took a bite, the goat cheese was FROZEN. Not sure what the expediter was doing, but this should not have happened. I decided to order the burger (medium) with fries. This also took a while to get and now I understand why, as the burger was pretty much incinerated. It tasted of charcoal and burnt meat and was beyond very well done. After only a couple of bites, it became inedible. The fries, however, were very good. The disappointment in all of this is that, after conveying this to our waitress, thinking it would be removed from our bill, she told us she took 20% off the price of the burger. Oh well. I'll go back for the wine but will be sure to avoid eating anything at WCW.

We are so sorry that you had a disappointing experience at our winery and thanks for taking the time to leave a review so that we can correct the situation. This year has been an exceptionally challenging year with all the craziness in the world, exacerbated by high temperatures, shortages in all food, cleaning and sanitizing products, and most of all, staff. We have also been exceedingly busy while most businesses are not. This is not an excuse for your dissatisfaction with your meal, or the timing of the service. If you read other reviews you will find that 99% of the time people are well-satisfied with the food and service. We are glad you enjoyed the scallops. They are locally caught and many people say that they are the best they've ever had/ So sorry that you hit us on a night when the kitchen and staff were overwhelmed.

I will start by saying that I have always loved Willow Creek and visit every time I come to the area. It was my best friends birthday weekend and she wanted to come for your always awesome sangria. We arrived at 1:30pm on Sat 10/17/20 knowing that you closed for a private event at 4pm as stated on the website. It was extremely busy but walked right up to be greeted (if you could call it that) by JOE. He did not say hello, started out by saying we are closinging at 4 for a private event. I said yes, I understand but we would love to have a glass of sangria and enjoy an hour of the sun and the beautiful grounds. He said well you can't order food we are closing for a private event. Again, I understand we just want sangria. Where can we get that? Outside or inside? Joe said either but we are closing and good like finding a place to sit and you can't sit there or there (pointing) as we are closing for an event. He may as well just said get back in your car and go elsewhere. At this point I walked to the inside greeter who greeted me with a welcome and a smile and happily directed me to either bar and apologized for Joes rude behavior and said that he was overwhelmed at the amount of people but clearly no excuse. We chose the outside bar line as it was shorter than the inside. We waited about 20 minutes only to be the next to be served and a busser came out and said I am sorry but this bar is closing for a private event. It is now about 2:40....again website says closes at 4! I go back to the very nice lady who directed us there and she again apologises and finds us a table inside immediatly with an outstanding waiter who greeted us with a smile, quickly got sangria and said that food was being served until 4! Joe said we could not sit or order food...hmmm. Everyone was ordering food in the building and outside! Joe clearly is not good at welcoming customers and We were not the only ones who felt this way. All the folkes behind us felt the same. I truly do love this place and I will be back but only because of the nice lady (im sorry I did not get her name) at the desk and the outstanding waiter who made up for the horrible non welcome we recieved from Joe.

We are so, so sorry that you had this unpleasant experience with Joe while visiting our winery, but we are grateful that you were rescued by our most excellent hostess and outstanding waitstaff. We hope that you were able to salvage part of the visit with our "always awesome" sangria. Clearly, there was a lot of miscommunication on that day surrounding closing times and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We can't solve a problem that we don't know we have. You should know that thanks to you, we have addressed this issue with our staff. It's frustrating to feel that you are not being paid attention to or heard, and for that, we are truly sorry. We are grateful that because of our outstanding waiter and kindly hostess you've decided to give us another chance to give you a five-star experience the next time you visit.

Made a reservation for me and my wife while we were visiting Cape May. I just don't understand what's the point of making a reservation if you still have to wait like an hour just to be seated. They can just say that they don't take reservations in a busy season (first come first serve). The place was really crowded therefore the service was poor and slow. This place has potential, the vineyard is nice but it should be better managed.

Andres: Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We can't improve unless we know we have issues. Our NJ Department of Health has recommended that restaurants take reservations during this unprecedented time because god-forbid someone test positive, we will have a way to find and alert our guests. Reservations also allow us to staff up if needed and for our kitchen to make proper food orders. However, we would like to apologize for your experience. We were hugely busy with an onslaught of guests most without reservations. Many took it upon themselves to seat themselves at any available table. We were, quite honestly, unprepared. As hard as we all worked it wasn't enough. We are constantly trying to improve our guest experience which is why we are actively searching for a new Front of the House Manager. Onward and Upward!

Willow creek seriously overbooked dinner reservations and created confusion and long waiting time to receive dinner entrees etc. After a 1.5 hour wait, we were informed that they did not have any of their signature Grilled cheese sandwiches. Our server, Beth literally saved the day with extremely pleasant way of saying "I'm so sorry".. Beth bent over backwards for us as she knew we were celebrating our 49th wedding anniversary. We reordered a second option and it was perfect. I believe the owner (s) of the winery need to respect the timeframe of reservations and the required kitchen help needed to serve guests. If it wasn't for Beth, we would not return under the current conditions, but once again we can't thank her enough for smiling and respecting our situation.

First, we would like to apologize for your experience Saturday. We were, quite honestly, unprepared for the onslaught of guests that descended on us. As hard as we all worked it wasn't enough. We absolutely respect the timeframe of reservations which is why it says in every confirmation email, "We ask that you keep your reservation to 90 minutes because with limited seating due to COVID, we'd like to make sure all our patrons have a chance to experience dining at Willow Creek Winery. Please feel free to linger over your wine in the rocking chairs, the vineyard bar, or in our lounge area." Unfortunately, we had many patrons who were not respectful of this policy and others without reservations who actually sat themselves instead of going through the hostess. This is not an excuse, but it is a reason. Again, we truly apologize for your experience, especially because it was such an important anniversary. We hope that you will give us another chance when things normalize a bit.

We had a group of 9 for a wine tasting and lunch. The establishment is beautiful.
The wine tasting was educational and their wines are really good, however the wine is expensive. The food temperature was lukewarm and just OK - nothing great. Our waitress was not very attentive and the service was lacking. When we were initially seated for the wine tasting, it took longer than it should have for the tasting to begin and the wine sommelier was also busy with other tables as well throughout our tasting, taking a lot longer than necessary between each pour. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and I would not visit again or recommend.

Perhaps the worst wine I have ever had. Ordered a flight, which is three samples at $27. The Beaujolais tasted like Kool-aid, and the two sickening whites were equally undrinkable. I was with 7 other close friends and their wine choices were also very disappointing. Laughable prices for such poor wine. I could have poured the 3 samples together and made about 1 glass of wine at $27. Mixing could not possibly make them worse!

After a taste of 2 wines in my flight I attempted to return the flight for a single bottle of one wine that I thought would at least be barely drinkable. After 25 minutes the server to came back to tell me that returns are not accepted. Ha! I have a feeling they get lots of return requests for their ripple wine.

One expects a brisket sandwich to be thick and juicy. This was the complete opposite. The overpriced beef brisket sandwich was a scrawny, thin cardboard-tasting baguette about 6” long that has three thin slices of overcooked, dry, tasteless brisket. A side of creamy horseradish did little to help. The fries were decent but far from the best. Get the pulled pork instead.

Service is scanty. Basically for our round table for 8, she hastily dropped all the dishes, flatware, napkins and menus on the table for us to sort out and pass. At these menu prices I expect at a bit more hospitality and service.

In the end, after splitting our bill 8 ways and giving our server far more than deserve for her minimal service, I paid $43 for what amounted to about one glass of the worst wine ever and the worst brisket ever. Go for the views and atmosphere, it’s very beautiful but skip the wine and brisket. Better yet, save your money, go elsewhere, this place should stick to selling fresh chicken eggs.

Chef Brian better go back to culinary school if this was his best effort!

We have been to the Winery several times for a relaxing afternoon of wine and finger food. We were always satisfied with the food so we figured we would give it a try during their Easter Price Fix menu for $45 pp. All I have to say is we stopped on the way home at Wendy's and received better service and food for 1/10 the cost. I know that during holiday's all costs increase but between our service and food it was really awful.
We sat outside as it was a beautiful day. We were seated immediately for our 230pm reservation. We then sat at our table for 15 minutes before speaking with our waitress. I do not subscribe to, they were busy, because they were only taking reservations so they knew ahead of time how many people they needed to serve.

We started with bread and pastries that were fine. We then had salads and Avocado Toast that were OK at best. The salads lacked any oh wows and were better suited for a refrigerated section at a local WAWA and not a establishment charging $45 pp. The next course we had was poached eggs over hash, banana Foster French Toast and a omlette. All of the food was edible but not what we expected. Dessert was included with the meals but the service was so bad we just asked for the check before we were stuck there for another hr. Overall we were there for 90mins and business was brisk but they were not packed. The inside was empty. If I could give them 0 rating I would. A true waste of $180!

Great time while we were there on Halloween weekend and our private tasting was perfect as was our service and server during lunch.

Dealing with management, however, is another story. I called to set up a private tasting and without being told ahead of time, I was charged a group fee on top of the tasting fee. So essentially a cover charge just to walk into the winery. I sent countless emails and phone calls that both went unreturned. When seated at lunch, the manager was sent over after I made a comment about the group fee to the server and the server said, "don't worry about it" and I said, well I had already paid it so I was worrying about paying it twice. She immediately sent the manager over who said, "I'll follow up with you after talking to the owners..." Let's just say I had to keep calling back and there was no follow up. Management is absolutely horrific. Servers and wine servers are amazing.

Was here twice before, once when they first opened and again about 4 years ago. Stopped here with a friend for a visit this weekend and the snotty hostesses informed us we could not enter the main tasting room without a reservation. We were only two people, but I guess I can understand the reservation rule. The attitude though, was very uncalled for, especially after what happened next. They banned us to the next building which is a walk-in bar where there was about 40 people and only one bartender, who ignored everyone for at least 10 minutes while he hopelessly flirted with a group of girls at the bar. Once he finally realized there were other people waiting he made his way around we ordered two glasses of Rose, of which mine had floaties in it, and which both tasted like an old bottle of wine you would find in the back of your great aunt’s fridge. We couldn’t even finish it, $26 later. Lesson learned we should’ve asked to taste it first, but also, perhaps they should train the staff to do their job and talk to people a bit about the wine beforehand. I mean, being here before, I didn’t have super high hopes for the wine overall, but usually as wineries mature, the wine gets better. Sadly, both the wine and the service here is subpar. Tourist trap for sure. If you want good wine and service, go to Turdo or Cape May winery!
