What a privilege to be able to explore this Battleship. The guides dotted around the ship are very knowledgeable. You have to be able to climb ladders and be relatively fit to get into all the areas of this battleship.
This was a very cool tour it was neat to see how the restored some of the ship back to the 40s in honor of the ships commander then! The men giving the tour were very knowledgeable and loved to tell their stories! Great tour...More

As other reviewers have stated, the New Jersey is the most decorated battleship and the only one to have been commissioned 4 times. She is probably the best battleship ever built, capable of effectively performing a wide variety of missions. Anyone interested in military history...More

I did use the wand and did not mind taking it back to the ticket building. One reason for returning wands to the ticket counter is they need to keep any deposit IDs safe behind the counter. ( As I recall, I was not asked for an ID, which surprised me.) The above suggestion that it helps the Gift Shop is probably true and another good reason for asking people to return the wands to the ticket building.
