Battleship New Jersey had a distinguished career and that is what distinguishes this museum ship. First commissioned in 1942, this ship was commissioned three times to take part in wars of different times. It was rather recently that it was converted to a museum in year 2000. In an era where battleships are out of vogue, going around battleship NJ... More

We have been on many naval ship museums and this one by far has the most to see and is the most interactive we been on. Keep up the good work. We hope to visit again.

What a great way to spend a few hours. Take the kids and the grand kids. Everyone will enjoy this step back in history. Guided or unguided tours are available. The big guns are awesome and you can see the shells that they fired. You will have to do some step climbing to see all the ship has to offer.... More

Excellent self-guided tours. Be prepared to ascend and descend ladders, walk a long distance, and if you are tall be prepared to duck for low overheads. Expect to spend 2-3 hours on the ship reading and also seeing the surrounding sights on the Delaware river. I don't recommend bringing children under 10-12 years as there are ladders and many places... More

This ship of the line was retired four times. After making important contribution to winning the war in the South Pacific and then back for Korea. Then back again in Vietnam. And finally once again in the 1980s as a show of force in the Cold War. Lots of history.

We bought a Philly Pass and this was one of the places you can visit with the pass. This place is a must see for you and your family! Parking is $10 or you can park a few blocks away in the residential area for free. It takes you about 2 hours to walk the whole ship but it's def... More

The self guided walking tour is easy to follow and takes a few hours, depending upon how quickly you move and your level of interest in each part of the ship. There are many signs throughout, and also guides in certain locations who describe what life was like in that part of the ship. A handheld audio-guide is also available.... More

I attended an incredible Halloween party on the Battleship New Jersey. It was an amazing experience. The museum was open to all guests to explore. It was very well laid out and easy to follow. What an amazing venue for a party!

I'm a history buff in general but have a real love and admiration for battleships. This is my third as I have previously toured the North Carolina and the Wisconsin. While the Wisconsin was in better shape as far as the decks go, the New Jersey holds her own. The New Jersey also has many displays on board that really... More
