I love going to museum ships and learning more about our naval history through those visits. While in Philadelphia we crossed the river to visit the USS New Jersey an Iowa class battleship. The decks are in need of repair and they are working on it but need more funds we donated to the cause, it wasn't much but we... More

I recently went on a bus trip to see the USS New Jersey in Camden, NJ. It was a fantastic experience. We got to see the inside of the ship and stand on deck. I couldn't believe the size of the ship! Learning about the crew quarters and battle experience from a veteran of the ship was a great way... More

Very good audio tour and many additional displays throughout the ship. Nice and cool inside. Great way to beat the heat.

First to get there from the city centre of Philadelphia. Use the "PATCO" line it is about $2.80 for a return ticket to City Hall New Jersey (This is the first stop in New Jersey) you get out at a road junction first left you see a church on left across the road you see a block building a court... We took a trip aboard the Big J and it was really worthwhile! It gave me an insight into what the crew had to endure during war times. Lots of "crew people" there to answer any questions and also to give you information about the ship and it's duties at sea. This is definitely not a place for someone with... More

This is a must-see for anyone interested in the history of our country, our state, and naval history. The ship is docked in Camden right next to the aquarium so you might want to do both. Even though it's in Camden, you can get there via Philadelpha and the Ben Franklin Bridge. $10 parking puts you right between the 2... More

"A ship can carry a boat, but a boat cannot carry a ship" - Good to know. Went to the WMGK BeerBlast on the Big J (the most decorated ship ever) and ticket price included tour of the ship. Lots of up & down steep stairs, stepping thru tight passageways and maneuvering around but it's all part of the ambience... More

If you're visiting the aquarium, you have to make a stop at the Battleship New Jersey. There is also a discounted combo ticket available via the Battleship New Jersey website. We took the self-guided tour and still kept 2 of my nephews (6 yo) and niece (12yo) interested. I recommend you to part at their 'VIP parking' which is only... More

In a word - Wow. For those with ties to the Navy, appreciation of military history, or just a love of really big guns, coming here is a no-brainer. However, there are plenty of things to see and do on-boar that many people can appreciate. The quality of life of the sailors - where they slept, what they wore, how... More

I have lived in New Jersey my whole life and have long been proud to call this place my home. I have also been proud of our state's namesake Battleship, having served our country from 1944 until 1991 seeing action in the Pacific theater, Korea, Vietnam, and the persian gulf. The ship is so impressive, as you approach her she... More
