I came across this place as I was looking for a place for archery with my siblings. They're primarily a shop, but have an indoor range and are working on an outdoor range. Really basic set up upstairs of the shop. I think it was about $30pp, they give group discounts. There's also a discount for range time after you pass their course.

This review is for their Easton PA store.

When you go to a range the whole experience begins when you enter the front door. This place has a great atmosphere and I love walking into this place.
Most everyone is friendly. Most!

My 12 year old daughter and I have been here multiple times. She shoots bow but this time we went to the gun range. The lady at the counter was not out right rude but she could not hide the unfriendly attitude . My daughter even mentioned it on the drive home. Most of the other front desk people have been friendly.
I have a five time pass card that I couldn't use because (I was told ) I was sharing a lane, though I have used it this way in the past . On other visits, I used one of the 5 credits and I paid the $10 dollar lane share fee and rental separately. Not this time.
I had a rifle that could not be used at the pistol range. At the same time i was renting a gun. They said I had to use the rifle at the rifle range and then go to the pistol range. I guess for some reason they cant bring a rental pistol to the rifle range. Oh well! So I decided to just skip the rifle shooting all together. I didnt want to set up and pack up and set up again.
This place gets pricey real fast. I have my own targets, ear and eye protection and it still adds up quickly.
When you rent a gun you have to use (buy) their ammo. I guess its a liability thing but it adds on $$ and its also a bit odd buying ammo I already have in my bag.

Ive purchased a firearm from here before. The buying experience was good. Then again its always good when you're picking up something new.

Bring your own eye/ear protection and targets to save a couple of bucks.

The range officers in my ive delt with have all been friendly and positive. Some will even go obove and beyond.

The 3 star rating is for the sometimes unfriendly attitudes, the little quirky things mentioned above and the expense.

I went to the HG with my husband in PA a few weeks ago. We had such a great time on the range. When we were almost done, an instructor came over & told us to save a few rounds for a little treat he had for us. So, after we were done, he took us to a range in the back... he showed us a new, interactive, virtual range with live ammo. It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. I was shooting against zombies (the thrill of my life) & my husband was shooting “bad guys”. We bought the paper for $1 a sheet & he let us play a quick round. I’m completely addicted. He gave me a few pointers while I was shooting & it was great. I was able to get each zombie (head shots only of course). It improved my shooting significantly because I wasn’t shooting a boring piece of paper but yet interactively playing a zombie game.
I suggest everyone give this game a try. I don’t usually post comments but HG really hit the mark on this. Also, the range master, which shame on me for not remembering his name, went above & beyond. His excitement & encouragement was to the degree of an owner not an employee. He had such pride in his job & his skill of shooting. He was a retired police officer from Ohio/Washington I believe. His professionalism & knowledge of guns, ammo, stance, ect is 2nd to none. I would definitely recommend this range to everyone. If you need some pointers, this place is for you, if your an expert, this place is for you.

Store management I feel misled me back in October 18, and i foolishly returned in March 19 to be given the run around again. A big time waste. By comparison I found the folks at the Easton branch which I visited a few times prior to visiting Branchburg much more helpful - so your experience between locations may vary significantly.

Tactical Training Center in Flemington was a 100% better experience. Gave them the exact same requirements and constraints, made my first purchase that afternoon and just last week my second. Will be making future purchases at TTC - being quite new to shooting sports and not having hunted in 2 decades my list of things to buy is quite extensive.
Selection is limited compared to HG but if you are not in a rush you can just order what you want anyway.

Funny how a bad experience can sour you on a company, but that’s kind of how I feel towards HG. They were not straight with me, and that is a matter of principle.
In my line of business integrity is highly prized and that was missing at HG.
