My friend and I went whale watching with the Ocean Explorer. Captain Bobby and his crew were amazing. they went out of their way to make it a perfect day. We drove out into the ocean and watched two whales spouting and jumping then on the way back in we saw another whale jump out of the water and dive back in.
There was also a naturalist on the boat who spent a great deal of time going around and talking with each individual group on the boat, showing us all pictures of the different types of whales and explaining how they are different. She also answered all of our questions. I got an education about whales and this made the day even more interesting.
Bobby and his crew were wonderful. They told us exactly where to watch for the whales and there they were.
We will defiantly go again in with Ocean Explorer in 2022.

We did a Saturday evening sunset cruise a few weeks ago and had a wonderful time. The boat was not too crowded, which gave us plenty of space for social distancing--and to avoid getting our lines tangled with others.
The crew, in particular Anna, were outstanding. Attentive and helpful if you needed assistance with a fish or re-jigging your line, and not at all condescending or irritatable that you were making her do someting that you should do by yourself. And since the crowd was manageable, the crew had plenty of time to help anyone who needed it.
Weather was great for our trip, a decent amount of fish were caught, though only some shorts for us.

I took my 86-year-old mother on this excursion, and we both LOVED it! Trish, our naturalist, provided tons of interesting information about the area and its wildlife. Captain Jeff kept us on time, while still ensuring that we saw both dolphins (hundreds of them!) and humpback whales (two!).
Not only that, but we had met a couple while waiting to board, and it turned out that they were about to become engaged. I shot video of the proposal and photos of the happy couple, as did Trish. She, the captain, and other crew posed for photos after the cruise. We really couldn't have asked for a more memorable or more pleasant experience!
A note: On this page, they ask if the experience is exciting, unusual, or risky. It IS exciting, it IS unusual, but it's not risky. It's fun! And they ask who you were with, but only let you choose between young children or teens. Well, again, it was me and my mother, both senior citizens, and it was great!

My daughter 13, nephew 14, and I had a terrific day fishing with Captain Bob , Anna, and Dave. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience first time deep sea fishing. Everyone on the boat was super friendly and it was not intimidating at all. We brought our own poles and rented as well, we were immediately educated and Dave and Anna were always checking in on us! We caught several sea bass and took home some good keepers. I would strongly recommend anyone wanting to try deep sea fishing but nervous about the “professional” atmosphere- take the Ocean Explorer!

Do not use Ocean Explorer. We went in July and did not see one whale or even a dolphin and the boat is very small. We were told to contact them to obtain a free trip since we did not see any whales. When I contacted them in August the voicemail is full and the message says to text them. I text them three times and no response!

I really enjoy the camaraderie with the guys. There all like family. Fast Eaddy, Jocko, Jimmy, Frankie, The professor, Blackfish Bobby,Big Skip and many other good guys. I really look forward to the competitive fishing. Captain Bobby always comes through.
The Summer Fluke Season is awesome, along with The Blackfish/Tog season are just exceptional. The Seasonal Pools always attract the best fisherman with upwards of over $10,000.00 to win.

Booked a whale/dolphin watching tour on the Sea Eagle Belmar NJ. At first I thought the boat was small, and would feel every wave, not the case. We felt very comfortable on the boat. What a day!! Whales! right beside the boat. Dolphins The captain and his first mate were awesome! They had such enthusiasm, when they saw the whales. It was amazing to see that although they are out there everyday seeing the whales, they still get as excited as we did ! I recommend this boat very highly!

We went on a whale watching tour with Capt. Jeff. The crew was friendly. You could tell they really wanted us to see a whale! We did see a whale and watched it for awhile. Very enjoyable trip. It was a nice boatride as well. Would recomend.

We had an absolutely fabulous time on the Ocean Explorer yesterday! We got to see a couple of whales and several schools of sea rays (which are my favorite marine animal so I was super excited). We rode a good portion of the rough waters on the bow of the boat and got sprayed by ocean water as we bounced among the big waves. Thank you Captain Jeff for an amazing experience! We will definitely ride with you on the Ocean Explorer again!
