My two boys age 13 and 14 needed something to do during the summer as I did not want them playing video games. Signed them up for the Sandy Avocado Skim Camp and they loved going every day. Great outdoor activities at the beach and within one week the owner Steff Mags had them skimming waves like a pro. Highly recommend for children of all ages. Great way to boost children's self esteem and confidence while exercising. This camp is for boys and girls and everyone gets along even though they all start out as strangers.

Sandy Avocado does kids surf camps and also women only surf sessions as well! The owner, Steff is an amazing instructor. She'll make sure that everyone is welcome! Such a positive environment! I took many surf lessons in the US and overseas, but Steff is by far the best instructor I ever had!

This was my kids first year at Sandy Avocado and they absolutely loved every second of it!!! I highly recommend!

Sandy Avocado is an amazing camp, rooted in the basics of surf and skim but perfectly updated for a new generation. The camp was well run and the kids were busy and engaged the whole time.
One day of the camp, the surf was too big and dangerous for kids. But the kids were busy on the beach the entire time, and had fun throughout. They really looked up to the counselors.
By the end of the week my son's skill level and confidence in the water had improved. He learned the basics of respecting the ocean and the different facets of surfing and skim boarding. I am a year-round local and I definitely recommend this camp. We will be back.
