The house we rent is very close to this museum and we have been visitng for years. The formal programs are most informative but just browsing on your own is a lot of fun. Great place on a rainy day!

This is a great small local museum. The emphasis is on local. The museum is staff by volunteers, many have lived on the island for decades and are happy to share their wealth of knowledge. There are many interesting local artfacts on display.

If you are interested in the paranormal or just want to get into the folklore of LBI this is an interesting walking tour. The tour guide will share her own "stories"as well as historical stories based on tall tales of yesteryear... enjoy... BOO!

It was an overcast day and we had been to the flea market so we decided to see some of the history on LBI . It’s great photos displays and an informative staff don’t just save this for a rainy afternoon.

Just reopened and so glad they did! Down home comfortable feel you don't get with most museums. Great displays and wonderful artifacts.

The museum has a program once a week to interest children in Long Beach Islands History. Then, they make a fun project to take home. Most of the time, they are functional ones such as lighthouse candle lamps or solar-powered ovens. This is recommended for...More

Although a Museum, they also hold weddings, (which is why we were there) and other events throughout the year. A converted Episcopal Church which my wife noticed right away in which most of the stained glass had been replaced with regular glass to make it...More

Very informative and interesting. The history of the island throughout the years details the many challenges of living on a barrier island. Well worth the stop if you have time away from the beach.

The museum has some interesting artifacts, but in the age of interactive exhibits, doesn't hold appeal for everyone. However, the Monday night talks are fascinating, particularly for anyone who has some attachment to LBI. Ron Marr, the president of the museum is an excellent speaker...More

I am not sure if this museum is open all year or what their fall and winter hours might be.
