A little less packed than Hampton or Salisbury and caters more to the vacation rental crowd due to restrictive parking. This is a great beach, especially for families with kids. Seals are around in the summer time if you're looking out for them. Be aware of the horseflies/greenheads - due to the nearby marshes, they're prevalent in early summer and you should plan accordingly (screens on your cabanas, bug spray, bug traps, or stay near the water in the full sun).

Seabrook beach is the southern most beach in New Hampshire, only a couple of miles long and sandwiched between two very touristy beaches - Salisbury to the south and Hampton to the north. It is basically a residents' beach as a resident parking sticker is needed to park on most streets. There is some public parking available along 286, and some on the bay side toward the bridge, but on weekends and holidays parking can be difficult for visitors. There are public accesses to the beach every few yards, however. There are a few convenience stores and restaurants along route 1A, but it's not meant to be a shopping mecca. I said "convenience." Some restaurants on 286 are terribly over-priced but consistantly have long lines of tourists. Most of us who summer here go off the beaten path. The beach on the ocean side is usually clean with plenty of room so that everyone has their "space." There have never been lifeguards here, so people must really watch their children. The two problems here are people who leave their trash on the beach (or bury their beer cans in the sand) for someone else to clean up, and people who seem to think it's ok to park in our driveways. We hope that visitors take their trash with them or use the barrels at the accesses. The police are very good about making rounds and issuing parking tickets, so I strongly advise visitors to find a legal parking place. Some people prefer the bay side which has a smaller beach and is much quieter. Some even prefer finding a parking spot near the bridge and sitting on the river side, where the Hampton River feeds into the bay. These areas are wonderful, generally quieter and cleaner, and a refreshing spot on the planet. For activities, hustle and bustle or night life, head north or south on 1A. One comment about "stinky, stinky" posted below...........the "sewage plant" is a nuclear power plant and does not smell. Sometimes, when the tide is very low, there is a marsh mud flats smell along 286. There are acres of marshland there that provide an estuary for many species - quite pretty, actually.

very little parking for this beach makes it very uncrowded. You can only park on the street if you are a Seabrook resident. Very clean - not like Hampton. If you can be dropped off at a beach access and someone parks the car far away (at the Seabrook parking lot) and walks, it is a good place.
Very peaceful and quiet because of the lack of crowds - even on the busiest days there is plenty of room to be by yourself.

Seabrook beach is a very nice clean beach due to the fact that you need a resident (or guest) parking sticker to park on the roads. There is also a small public lot with public bathroom 200 yards south of the route 1A bridge to Hampton Beach. If you're looking for a beach to bring a cooler to, throw a frisbee without crowds, not worry about losing your kids, that is long and wide, even at high tide, Seabrook is a great beach. There are some nice small restaurants near the public lot. I like Sharon's grill for breakfast and lunch. Round Rock (near the light at 286) is good basic pub food and the clam shack (I forget the exact name), is well, simple fried clams.

There is also the Hampton Bay side of the beach easily accessible from the public lot. You'll see a lot of kayakers, wind and even kite surfers there.

If you don't have a resident or guest sticker, it's about 200 yards from the public lot to the beach.

This beach has great reviews and I'm confused why.
The beach isn't even facing the ocean. Yes there's saltwater, but it's more of an inlet that is used as moorings for boats. The sandy beach area is nice, but I can't imagine why anyone would choose this location over the other actual beaches. Don't even get me started on how much of a pain it is to find parking...
I highly recommend you skip over the other reviews and read this one! Don't waste your time here.

Its a great beach and not as crowed as Hampton but it is a private beach so you can only go if you are either renting or own a house up there. I go multiple times a year and its always fun. Great beach.

Nice beach. very family oriented. Very quiet. Never any trouble. Lots of kids. Two problems: no parking, no toilets. Great if you stay at a nearby cottage. Fourth of July can get a little noisy with kids and fireworks, but so is the case everywhere. One mile walk over bridge to Hampton and all the buzz.

Seabrook is a gorgeous beach on the nh seacoast. It is clean and family friendly. The downside is that resident permit parking is only allowed beach side. If you choose to, you can park on route 1A, cross the busy
street and walk towards the many beach access entrances. Be sure to take your trash with you since there are no garbage bins available.

One of my favorite places to be! If you're looking for a relaxing beach where you can park easily anywhere and find it quieter than some of your other local beaches, this would be the place.

Finding a parking spot is your most serious problem of the day. The struggle is well worth the energy and time spent finding one. This beach is both clean and not crowded. Just over the bridge is Hampton beach, a beach full of all the tourist traps, crowded and sometimes very dirty. never had a bad experience visiting Seabrook Beach.
