Definitely has a lot to offer the family, but the water park, while awesome, was so crowded we couldn't go. 6 year old was bummed.

This park might not be as big scale as Six Flags, but it's so much better because it offers different levels of thrills for families of all ages. Always clean, picturesque and lots to do. Been coming here since I was 10 and love that...More

This is a smaller amusement park than say Six Flags, but it packs a punch full of fun! There weren’t too many people there when we went, and were able to hit all the rides we wanted, even a few times. Food was good, it’s...More

Our kids thoroughly enjoy Canobie Lake Park. My son (the oldest) loves the Halloween Screamfest and looks forward to it each year. The staff has always been helpful, polite and knowledgeable.

For the last couple of years we’ve gone during the week. Monday last year and Wednesday this year...both during the month of July. Hardly any wait times! I’m sure weekends are quite a bit busier.

We packed a lunch and had our hands stamped so we could return after eating lunch in the car. I'm not sure if they have a picnic spot or not but the air conditioning in the car felt good!

Canobie Lake Park on 4th of July (4 Replies)
I am wondering if it gets extremely crowded there on summer holidays such as the 4th of July. We are looking for an activity on the last day of our vacation as we leave North Woodstock, NH and head back home. Some of the reviews described long lines at Canobie Lake. We have waited an hour on line @ Hershey Park on a Saturday in the summer Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect there?

It will be EXTREMELY crowded. The lines at Canobie on a super busy day will be ridiculous. I would probably try to choose another day if possible.

Any good Mom & Pop lodging in or around Canobie Lake Park? (3 Replies)
Trying to book lodging for my brother, his wife and 3 teenagers for 7/9/11. They are on a very low budget. Thought a mom & pop motel would be less expensive for them. Anyone know of any in or around Salem I can check into. Anything within 15 miles from Canobie would be great! Thank you.

I would recommend the Wyndham in Andover Ma. This is located just under 15 miles from Canobie Lake Park and right on route 93..maybe a 15 minute ride away. The service is great..the rooms clean and very comfortable and the service it top notch. Go on their website..and sign up for Wyndham rewards. My friends from NC have been here most of the week and they got a rate of $79 per night .

Boston to Salem, NH? (4 Replies)
I know I can ride the train to Salem, MA, but what about to Salem, NH, if we want to go to Canobie Lake Park? Would we have to rent a car or could we ride the train there for the day? We definitely want to do a day in Salem, MA.

You can take a bus from South Station and/or Logan Airport to Salem, NH on the Boston Express, the bus stop in Salem, NH is about a mile away from Canobie Lake Park. There are not a lot of sidewalks from the bus stop to the park. Canobie is only open seasonally. It would probably be easier renting a car.
