We took the trip on one of the hottest days of the summer. The boat goes out toward the Isles of Shoals, about 7 miles. Despite being 95+ on land, it got very cool out there. (Always bring a coat or sweatshirt!) We saw several humpbacks, minkes, sailfish, and other species. The guides pointed everything out to us and educated... More

Granite State is the best. If there are whales around, you'll see them. Naturalist interpreters and interns are on board to point out the whales on all sides, and come around with maps and info to explain more. They are truly knowledgeable and kind. We went out for five hours in August, and saw many humpbacks with their young, 3... More

The staff was very helpful and informative. Be sure to bring some type of rain gear - even with calm seas you can get sprayed/wet. They had snacks but we brought our own. We would go again.

Great boat ride even if you saw nothing which was not the case. During our 4 hour trip we saw porpoise, dolphins, sunfish, minky whales, and several humpback whales. One humpback mother and her calf put on quite a show. The staff are knowledgeable, courteous, and so helpful. The time we spent on the Watch was never rushed. This was a... More

Just got off the boat. Outstanding day. Porpoises on way in and out. Huge sunfish. 2 breaching whales off in the distance - magnificent. 6 humpback including 2 youngsters and 1fin whale. Incredible day. Many thanks to the crew for keeping us close to the whales and sharing their knowledge.

We had a great time on Labor Day weekend. We saw 3 different types of whales, the minke, humpback, and fin whale. The crew was very informative and couldn't of been nicer. We even got to see some seals float by. The 2 humpback whales were awesome and the crew even knew heir names! We highly recommend.

We took the Whale Watch trip and sat in the front of the boat. Dress in layers for warmth and know that you will get wet on the trip. These whales only stay on the surface for a short time so be vigilant. The crew did a great job getting us up close to the whales on several occasions. The... More

We went on the morning 8/19/16 trip and it was more than I hoped for. When I heard the trip was sold out I was worried it would be crowded, but don't be, there was no problem moving about or getting to either rail to see. Fellow travelers were accommodating to the smaller kids and let them get where everyone... More

What I liked most about Granite State Whale Watch is that their boat is smaller than most large whale watches. It made getting around the boat to see everything so much easier. And, wow did we se some great whales. The guide from Blue Ocean Society was very helpful and knowledgeable. Our 10 year old now wants to go every... More

My husband and I have now been on 4 whale watching trips, 3 in the Pacific, this one in the Atlantic. Granite state was by far the best price and the most sightings we've had from any company. We repeatedly saw 6 humpbacks (3 with calves), 2 minkes and 2 fin whales with a bonus pod of dolphins. The trip... More
