I'm a retired Ocean Master and have seen many whales throughout my sea adventures. I haven't been on the ocean since the fall of 2013 and decided to book a ride on a whale watch based out of Rye, NH. I googled and read the few ads and decided to go with Atlantic. I live in the Lakes Region of NH so the ride down to the coast was not a long one. The vessel was clean, the crew friendly and professional and the marine biologist narrating the watch was excellent. Their advice to bring additional clothing, especially jackets should be followed. It was a very hot day on the coast but cruising out 15 to 20 miles to Jeffries Ledge in the Gulf of Maine in the Atlantic, with a 8-12kt breeze kicks up a bit of chill. They serve food % drinks or you can bring your own, don't forget your sunblock and NO SMOKING onboard.

Our family vacation of 20 people came for a whale watching adventure. Sadly the seas were too rough and we turned back an hour into our tour. I was pleased how honest and safety conscious they were. We each received a coupon for a free whale watching tour anytime or we could exchange that for our money back. I hope next time we will be able to see some whales, as we would definitely book with them again!

The boat is big enough that I can sit along the rail, ready to get whale photos as they appear, without the fear of my cameras getting wet, as would frequently happen on the smaller boats. Their naturalists are very knowledgeable, everyone is very personable, and the snack bar is good. What more can you ask for?,

We took this trip on August 28, 2017 and it was a great experience! We started out by seeing a giant sunfish, although it was somewhat small as far as sunfish go. We also saw porpoises and even a seal. But the g highlight was seeing the whales. We saw them multiple times, the last ones we saw were two adult humpbacks, a male and a female. It wa so interesting that the crew can tell you about each whale because they know them by their markings. They have experienced naturalists on the trip that are able to answer any questions that you have. This was an extremely enjoyable experience and it was also very moving seeing those large animals. Definitely worth taking this trip!

The whale whatching trip exceeded all of our expectations. The crew was really professional and friendly too, they know and respect the animals. The trip was 4 hours long, and we get to know a lot of things about sealife. We were really lucky, we have seen 3 humpback whales, dozens of dolphins, 2 seals, and lot of birds. It was really touching, and truly a life-long experience.
