“Bookstore” works as request only per the owner so he said we could just look around for a few minutes. The catch is that you can’t even walk around because everything is so tight and lacking organization. I love a good used bookstore even if they are a bit of a maze, but there’s a difference between a running a bookstore and hoarding.

It's absolutely amazing. The owner is the nicest guy ever. Bring cash, be ready to give five dollars if you can't come up with a specific book/author you're hunting for, and obviously just be polite. I don't usually write reviews but so many people came up with their two cents just because the owner didn't take sass, so I want to set the record straight. I have had more good experiences looking for stories there than I can list, and I can't understand the bad ratings I see online at all. They're misleading. If you love books, this isn't the kind of place you can simply bypass. I am pretty certain it's got virtually every book out there.

You have to walk sideways in this place. Books stacked to the ceiling. The owner/clerk was not very clean and not at all friendly. I just needed any book as I was stranded for 2 days and nothing to read. Cost $4 for a 16 year old John Sanford book! If I wasn't desperate o wouldn't have gone inside. Don't go alone, a stack of books could fall over a kill you in there!

I like to prowl used book stores when I'm on vacation. I've found a few good ones; but none like this.
First, it's NOTfor the casual browser, the owner charges $5 just to go in. It is refunded with any purchase over $25 dollars. He only wants serious people. It's tight, but only because of the stacks upon stacks of books in the place. In spite of what looks like disorder, there is a system for all things there.
I guess it's a place that only a bibliophile can love; but love it I do and I'll be back on my next trip to the area. I'll plan more time.
Speaking with the owner, I found that this store is the result of many generations of work. Though it's been in its current location since the 1970's, the business was started by his family in England, in 1550! There are some true treasures to be found in this shop.
