We were in town for a 2 day mini vacation and deiced on taking a harbor cruise one afternoon. It was great. A smaller boat with only about 30 people. The Captain was great with all of his narrations of the local coast line and the history dating back to the early colonial times. A must do if you are... More

We recently enjoyed our first experience on one or the cruises offered by Portsmouth Harbor Cruises. We chose the Inland River Cruise, which goes up the Cocheco River to Dover, NH. For two and a half hours we enjoyed beautiful scenery while the captain provided an ongoing narrative on the history of the area. It was a thoroughly entertaining and... More

This was an excellent activity! I can't believe I have lived in NH for 15 years and have never done this before! The ocean was a little choppy today (Sept 17) so the Captain bought us down to the end of the bay and then went back up the river. The Captain was an excellent guide and I learned a... More

My wife and I took the 10:00 am Harbor Cruise this morning. We learned a great deal about the Portsmouth Harbor and neighboring islands as our captain shared entertaining as well as historical information on our 90 minute cruise. Sitting with my wife on the boats comfortable seats and enjoying being on the water was a luxurious way to start... More

This is a must do for visitors to Portsmouth on a nice sunny day when you have a couple of hours. You can't beat the scenery and this history is nicely presented. You can clearly hear the docent on the PA system and they do offer beer and snacks. You won't be disappointed. Just make sure you're properly dressed as... More

This is a very interesting cruise of the river and harbor with a narrated guide of the history of the area. The boat is comfortable with restrooms and a full bar. We enjoyed this immensely.

The boat is anchored at the bottom of Ceres street (we thought it was further North on the same dock that provides Star island tours and it was not! That almost cost us a missed tour! The boat was absolutely filled!! It toured you out of the harbor with the Captain announcing all the sites as we went by them.... More

We took the early Harbor Cruise at 10am. The weather was good and the water was calm. The Harbor Cruise offers a relaxing cruise with historical commentary from the crew members. There are drinks and snacks available on board as well as access to rest rooms. A really pleasant attraction that we'll be sure to do again.

Took a late afternoon cruise on a warm, sunny afternoon--a great break from walking most of the day. The narration of the sights along the way was well done. We saw a nuclear submarine tied up at the Naval Yard. The boat was relatively small, but the ride was comfortable.

We made reservations online for the noon departure on a Sunday. Parking was no problem as there is a pay garage within a short walk from the pier. We did have a full boat and we were glad we heeded the reservation suggestion. We departed on time, the captain was delightful, well informed and full of historical stories. The day... More
