About
Since 2007 it’s a 3 1/2+ hour Moose Safari Moose Tour into the area’s moose country from late May into October. Has a 8pm town departure, another stop, and a “half time” bathroom break. There is now over 2 hours of wildlife dvds played throughout the night so there’s plenty of moose visuals seen while seeking actual sightings of the real wild elusive majestic New Hampshire moose. In 2023 we enjoyed real good success. From May thru August moose were seen on 65 out of 72 nights. Darn good ! Moose seen in September and October too. On every tour it’s attempted to have everyone return to town saying “we saw moose !”. Our planned 2024 schedule is in photos. You are invited to experience this real authentic North Conway moose tour and have our driver with 18 years experience to do his best for you. And there’s no upfront payment needed at time of booking. Our policy is that seats are reserved at “no charge”. Then payment is due at 10am - 10:30am the morning of the tour date.

The driver picked us up at our B&B and explained the route & plan to all of us on the bus. He played a 55 minute informational video about moose for the first leg of the excursion, and also showed some slides accompanied by a NH song and another video later in the trip. He was persistent in returning to favorite proven locations and was successful in finding us some moose to photograph! It was an enjoyable journey that we would definitely repeat.

Very pleased with the night. Our driver/guide found us some wild moose and thats what we wanted. Sunday night of 4th of July weekend was when we went. And its easily seen the driver/guide is not out to disappoint and when he said "pressure off the driver early tonight" after the first moose you could see he was alot more relaxed. Ended up seeing 4 for the night and 1 was a big bull moose. The kids enjoyed the animal crackers too, we really enjoyed the moose night out.

Thank you. always a little extra pressure with young adults on board. this year so far different moose in different places. Have had success on all but the last Monday in June when we got over 4 inches of rain in two days.
North Conway is enjoying a decent summer. Lots of families enjoying Mount Washington Valley, USA. Thanks again.
And readers please check out our FB page for additional reviews as well as "Bull Moose Monday" and "Black Bear Thursday. Updates near nightly found on FB too. So far we are seeing moose in 2020.

Very exciting evening as we saw multiple moose. Elwyn is very knowledgeable on where to locate the moose and ensured each side of the bus was able to capture pictures of the animals. Only negative was during this time of Covid I would have expected the bus to be at 1/2 capacity and standard precautions of requiring masks not requested. I would have been more than happy to pay a bit more to have less people on the bus.

We did see a moose, 2 in fact. That earns Elwin's tour one star. But, in the age of COVID19, if you want a safe, professional experience, this is not the one for you. If you are concerned about getting onto a packed bus of tourists from all over the country (or world) for 4 hours, with no one wearing a mask, where folks act like it's a party bus, this is not the activity for you.
First, when we booked this 2 weeks prior, we were told that the bus was not going to be full for social distancing and masks were required. We get on and the owner himself is not wearing a mask. People getting on the bus had masks then took them off. I asked him are we wearing masks..his response was to not make eye contact and abruptly say, "Masks are optional", then turn his head to the next customer. We were seated in the last row and, at first, passengers were spaced apart. Elwin then said we were going to pick up more people at other stops. WHAT? I again asked about this and he said that every seat was filled, went to the front of the bus and we drove off. At that point, we were on the bus stopping at two other resorts, filling up this bus. People passed each other to get off for the bathroom, there was a container of drinks/snacks to grab something from (um, lots of hands in that area touching)...issue after issue of concern. Tourists from all over were packed into this bus, closed windows (oh, the open windows to take pics are 5x7 inch slider at the top of the real window which doesn't open.
When I got back to my hotel that night, I did look up the NH rules and, indeed, they had changed 3 days prior to say tours could fill and masks were to be highly encouraged. There is nothing on the website that talks about the precautions taken then nor are there now. This was a conversation we had with him when we booked and we were given assurances. I would have liked to have been alerted to the changes. I would expect that the tour would comply, at a minimum, with the "highly encouraged" masks; not even the owner/driver wore one. I get that the rules change, I get that it's a full bus that makes money. What I don't get is the rudeness, the total lack of planning to minimize risk.
I did have an email conversation with Elwin afterwards and, while saying he didnt intend to be rude, he said he complied with rules and it was good we saw moose, so all good. So, I'll say it again...if you are concerned about getting onto a packed bus of tourists from all over the country (or world) for 4 hours, with no one wearing a mask, where folks act like it's a party bus, this is not the activity for you.

Covid19 Alert ? Really ?
I'm pleased this reviewer saw moose. I'm surprised at this review because all reservation requests of late July were texted the covid policy which has also been posted on this Tripadvisor Page for weeks. Also posted on Facebook Page and Google Page too. Sorry she feels a need to say we're unprofessional.
We try hard to please everyone. And the thing is we know we have succeeded in making over hundreds and hundreds of customers happy in the month of July 2020 alone. We been seeing moose near nightly. That helps.
Thru July we're 42 out of 44 nights seeing moose in 2020 since opening in June. That's darn good !
So she sees multiple Moose and gives a rating of "terrible". Welcome again folks to year 2020. She was given the Policy to review ahead of time. Booked a tour anyhow. Saw multiple moose. Rating given: Terrible. ...How nice of her.
Especially since our operations have been given approval by New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.
That's right ! Readers take note ! The New Hampshire’s Attorney General’s Office has reviewed our Policy and finds it reasonable. Asked from them is windows are open as much as possible to allow fresh air to circulate.
The drivers window is down most of the night. The roof has a hatch door which also causes fresh air to circulate. The bus is equipped with "T-Slider" windows on each passenger window too so there a lots of windows to allow fresh air to circulate. These windows allow photos to be taken of moose and all do open. Not sure why reviewer says they don't.
And with our bus only sits about 30 which is well under New Hampshire's crowd size limit of 50 people to a group.
This reviewer seems to be offended that other riders were actually having an enjoyable experience. What a sad way to live life. It's mostly couples and families take this too so not so much a party bus just people having fun seeing moose. So she overlooks that this is meant to be a fun, entertaining and educational night out seeking wild New Hampshire Moose. Masks are worn by many on board yet with bottled water and animal crackers made available masks are optional once seated. The goal is to have all aboard returning to town saying "we saw moose !" You know, like she did.
Readers - Please follow along to our Facebook Page "North Conway Moose Safari Moose Tour" for real time Moose Sightings updates and check out "Bull Moose Monday" Bull Moose photos posted Mondays like over 22,000 Fans and Followers now do. There's "Black Bear Thursday" photos posted weekly as well. Lot's of 5 star reviews found on Facebook too.
And again, please ask any front desk in the Mount Washington Valley and you're likely to hear good things as we have been making guests happy since 2007 and our driver has the experience now of doing over 1500 moose tours in his career.
And did you catch we're 42 out of 44 nights seeing moose this season....
We will be offering moose tours nightly thru August. Just call 603-662-3159 to make a reservation.

We had an excellent time this labor day weekend and did see some moose . Just a few reason for only 3 stars and not 5 .
1) driver was going 75 miles per hr down rt 16 in an area that was 45
2) we sat in the seats to the right of the driver .
His ABS and Check engine light was on the entire time . In fact he had several bottles on bake fluid in board .( His brakes dragged with every stop )
3) the driver frequently takes his eyes off the rd while driving fast to check his cell phone.
4) AND this is a Big one .we were told that NH department of health and CDC guidelines would be met , and that the capacity of the bus would meet social distance guidelines . Once seated we can take our mask off. Well they r not following any social distancing , he packed us like a can of sadeeines my hair kept getting pulled by the child behind me , who sat with his older brother who kept coughing the entire time with no mask on .....PACKED like Sardines.
I looked around and I did see any cleaning supplies , or hand sanitizer seems to me he would make everyone use sanitizer before boarding and wipe down hand rails on the break or after each boarding location ,....
5) driver did not wear mask , and coughed several times without covering mouth
He should respect the health and safety of his guest by following social distance and cleaning
Also by maintaining his bus .
Otherwise , u probably would see moose whenever u go , u would probably have fun
And u may even see other wildlife .

Folks as an owner operator it is disheartening that this is the review which pops up at the top of TripAdvisor to begin the 2021 year. First, this business had a Covid Policy yet this reviewer quite obviously disagreed with it yet stayed on the bus anyhow, now with some sorta grudge. Reviewer’s nose already is growing as bus has speed limit governor which limits speed to under 65mph. So there’s that. Driver has done over 1500 tours and logged over 200,000 miles since 2007. The various speed limits are respected. Note that this is supposed to be the first review this reviewer ever posted on TripAdvisor. Let that sink in. Remarkable really. Good news Folks, two reviews down is a review by someone who has posted over 100 reviews. They speak well of their experience. so Folks please be sure to read that one too.
Let's respond, ABS sensor on front wheel goes on and off. Check engine not on. Had issue with Parking Brake so caused panel light to be on. The brakes did not and do not "drag". Master brake cylinder was replaced in 2019 so yes some spare brake fluid still on board. And that brake light is now off. The bus is actually pretty much like new, originally from California, began it's career giving Wine Tours in Napa Valley. Yep. Now its doing New Hampshire Moose tour and stored winters inside November into April. Our bus provides a safe and comfortable ride with a big screen TV up front playing wildlife dvds. Reviewer failed to mention the nearly 2 1/2 hours of dvd entertainment.
This Spring after being inside all winter the bus’s shocks are squeaking so likely to be replaced and rest assured bus will be given full NH Safety Inspection by a licensed NH certified mechanic before our 2021 season begins in late May.
Plus, Driver does not look regularly at phone. However, my watch strap had broken and wanting to be in "Moose Country" right on time then yes I was checking my phone to see what time it was. This reviewer caught me. So here I am trying to give the riders the best opportunity to see moose, being some place "on time" and now its used against me in a TripAdvisor comment. Some people just don't realize I'm doing my best to show them a moose. you know, like this reviewer did on their trip, and instead I'm getting scolded here with their comments. Sometimes you just cant make some people happy. Here's proof. My watch strap is since fixed. The 33 passenger coach bus is nothing but well maintained. It is kept clean as well. This "first time" reviewer seemed to be on a mission saying people coughing all the time and getting hair pulled constantly. This driver wasn't coughing and wasn't coughing with hand not over mouth. Again, readers please read the complimentary reviews found below.
Let's continue.... This company's Covid Policy in 2020 was: masks were optional once seated. It was posted ahead of time on this TripAdvisor. Why did this reviewer ignore it if it was available in advance only to be here complaining about it ? Same policy in 2021. Masks are optional once seated. New Hampshire has lifted the State wide mask mandate. Their policy for buses and trains are a mask may be removed to drink water or snack. So bottled water and animal crackers are made available. The bus was less packed than what the airlines are doing. So there's that. Our policy is no strangers sit side by side. That is a group of 3 will get 4 seats across. That extra seat is provided at no charge. Every row may be filled depending on demand for that particular trip.
Sorry this reviewer had her hair pulled by the child behind her. That's a first for hearing that complaint too. Like some reviewers from July 2020 who felt a need to find fault with bus being near full, this reviewer also had the opportunity to not attend trip. Says found seating arrangement so offensive ( that it led here to her first ever TripAdvisor review !) but stayed on the bus regardless as pre trip speech was given while bus still parked train station. Apparently went begrudgingly being sure to make list of complaints to put on this TripAdvisor, all while making sure they saw a moose, thanks via this driver of the North Conway Moose Safari Moose Tour.
And let's finalize this by pointing out no one caught Covid in 2020 from enjoying this night time moose adventure. Can we please appreciate no one caught Covid in 2020 from doing this North Conway New Hampshire moose tour. so let's please remember that. No one caught Covid taking this moose tour.
Let's continue... Driver does his best every night to find wild New Hampshire Moose for the riders. The New Hampshire moose herd size is less than half what it was 20 years ago. Since 2007 we have had tens of thousands return to town saying "we saw moose !". In 2020 we were 74 out of 79 nights seeing moose thru Labor Day. Did well in October too. Pretty darn good ! This owner/operator knows for many visiting the Mount Washington Valley on vacation they're giving themselves just one night to see a wild New Hampshire moose. This driver does his best every night. The result: this North Conway Moose Tour has an excellent reputation with all the lodging front desks throughout the Mount Washington Valley. Readers you're invited to ask any of them. And if you find yourself in North Conway and Mount Washington Valley between late May and Columbus Day, wanting to experience a night time, wild moose seeking, New Hampshire White Mountain adventure, we hope our seasonal partial schedule will allow you to ride along with us for a night out and you'll call 603-662-3159 between 10 am and 6 pm to make a reservation for the 8PM departure. Reader's, have safe travels and have fun ! Hope to see you in 2021 !

My family and I were so excited to go on this trip. There was 23 Total people on our trip packed into our "party bus". Prior to leaving, we were advised we would be going to a different route because the other company was not out that night. We started on our trip and stopped 10 minutes into the trip for a bathroom break. After a 15 minutes bathroom break, we started again on our adventure. Down a busy highway we go continously pulling over to allow others to pass us.
1 star rating because of the following
1) Played outdated videos while driving around vs being interactive with customers
2) Instead of using mounted spotlights, used 2 handheld ones spotlights while driving down a HIGHWAY over the posted speed limit
3) Bus sounded like there was something wrong with it
4) Drove the same stretch of highway for 4 hours. Didnt go off the busy highway and went back and forth for 4 hours.
5) Numerous others on trip very frustrated and bored
6) SO BORING several...including myself....fell asleep at one point
7) Two bathroom breaks totalling 30 + minutes out of the tour
We saw 1 baby moose about 50 yards about an hour after our first bathroom break but definitely NOT worth the time and money we had invested in it.
Very disappointing.

Wow ! They saw a moose and were still totally bored. Saw a moose and was Disappointed !!! Leaves a 1 star review.
Sorry, even saw a moose and this is their response…. so many nights the driver gets a round of applause for being able to find a wild native New Hampshire moose in less than 4 hours and this rider leaves a 1 star review on TripAdvisor.
If this “Debbie Downer” thinks some glow in the dark stars on ceiling and a ‘clap and cheer” sign lit up when a moose is seen (and near all actually cheer and clap when moose is seen) makes a party bus then well …guilty as charged. All meant to add fun to the evening.
Driver Elwyn has now logged over 1600 trips and over 200,000 miles driving our moose bus since 2007. No driving issues or tickets. Bus is mechanically sound. 2022 will be his 16th season and he’ll go over 1700 trips done. Tens of thousands of people made happy over 15 seasons….. just not this reviewer.
With no bathrooms available in town that first bathroom stop has been popular this year. It’s not done because the driver wants to sit there and wait, it’s done kinda out of necessity and sorry this reviewer found it such a hardship.
The nearly 2 hours of dvds are enjoyable and educational and helps pass the time. The black bear DVD is timeless. The slide show was created by this company just a few years ago. Maybe this reviewer had already passed out and missed it. Most find it very well done. The moose dvds are not new but the content is still appropriate. They’re the 2 best moose dvds available. If not they wouldn’t be included.
Elwyn does interact, but with driving unfortunately not able to walk back and forth in the isle showing magic tricks. Not sure what this reviewer was expecting. Not sure if anything would have made this reviewer happy given so many others offer a different opinion after experiencing this. Many give a 5 star rating. The majority of riders are happy with the experience offered in doing this activity. Be sure to read those reviews too please.
Good news folks ! We had a tremendous season seeing moose. In mid August we were 72 out of 74 nights. In mid September still a respectable 83 out of 89 nights. Pretty darn good. Many nights photos and even some nights videos are taken. Each night is different. Yet this year we’ve seen a lot of different moose in different places. It’s been awesome returning to town knowing everyone could say “we saw moose”. You know, like this reviewer did.
Others fell asleep says this reviewer. Well if actually happened then maybe they were content that their bucket list had been taken care of. They can now rest peacefully, they have now see a moose. Their bucket list taken care of.
Readers don’t be a “ Debbie Downer “ like this reviewer apparently is. Please ! …. you can get real time moose sighting updates by visiting our Facebook page “North Conway Moose Safari Moose Tour”. Posts are done near nightly in season and a few a week in the off season. We have a 4.7 rating on Facebook too. Weekly posts include “Bull Moose Monday” and “Black Bear Thursday”. Everyone is invited to follow along.
This moose Safari moose tour and driver Elwyn has earned an excellent reputation throughout the Mount Washington Valley. The bus recently purchased out of California is basically like new.
So want additional recommendations then just check with lodging front desks throughout the Mount Washington Valley : The Merrill Farm Inn, The Grand Hotel, The Holiday Inn Express, The Golden Gables Inn, The Hampton Inn and water park, Residence Inn by Marriott, The Fox Ridge, The Red Jacket and Kahuna Lacuna Water Park, The Briar Cliff Motel, The Colonial Motel, The Spruce Moose, The Kearsarge Inn, The Eastern Slope Inn, The White Mountain Hotel Resort and Golf Course, Eastern Inn, Adventure Suites, The Stonehurst Manor, Wildflower Inn, The Old Field House, The 1785 Inn, The Bartlett Inn, The Jackson Inn, The Snowflake Inn, The Wildcat Inn, The Wentworth, and Whitney's Inn in Jackson - all will speak well of this moose tour and of their guests thru the years seeing Moose and having good times too on this North Conway Moose Safari Moose Tour. Please inquire and ask any of them.
Safe travels everyone…

A Wonderful Moose Adventure found on this North Conway Moose Tour. A seamless experience from calling to make a reservation to returning to town having seen 4 moose. Having it be wildlife we had our expectations in check yet more than satisfied with the experience. DVDs were well timed throughout the night and the moose started to appear after dark. Would recommend this to anyone.

The 2021 season is off to a great start. Have done 14 nights already and schedule goes to nightly beginning June 23rd. This being our 15 season it’s our continued goal to have riders return to town saying “I saw moose” like this reviewer did. Not visiting a zoo so each trip is different yet here in 2021 have had great success thru mid June. Fingers crossed it continues. Driver does his best each night.

I would imagine this tour your would be good, if we saw any moose. We saw none. The driver did mention, when we boarded the bus, that the success rate is less in September. We drove for 4-4.5 hours, without seeing one moose. To ease the boredom, he showed videos. Perhaps for those who are not from this area, he could have told the history of North Conway. Or he could have offered us a discount on a future Moose tour.

Sorry no moose seen. In mid September we were 83 out of 89 nights seeing moose !!! And so yep 6 nights out of 89 didn’t see a moose and this reviewer was on one of those 6 nights. Bummer.
No guarantees in September and October. Sorry. September and October pricing is $10 less per person than mid August. September and October already discounted. It’s $35 cash per person for the night. Four hours. Not a lot of money in this day and age most will agree.
This company is all about having people look at moose and unfortunately there will be nights moose not seen. But 83 out of 89 nights is pretty darn good !
Recommendation is you do this, if possible, do it in May or June, best in late June, if not June then July, if not July then August. Don’t wait until after Labor Day to do this if possible.
Most find the nearly 2 hours of unique wildlife DVDs played enjoyable, educational and helpful to pass the time. Have not kept any tour out really late this year so yes some nights moose not seen. Departure time is 8pm and we shoot to be back by midnight and vast majority of nights have returned on time. Some nights the moose are on time. When the moose aren’t on time most riders appreciate the extra time spent looking for moose. Again unfortunately this reviewer went on one of the 6 nights out of 89 moose not seen.
And if had babbled on about the history of North Conway let’s say no good deed would go unpunished. No doubt there’d been complaints how was babbling about the history of North Conway when expecting a “quiet night looking for moose.”
And readers you can get real time moose sighting updates late May thru Columbus Day by visiting our Facebook page “North Conway Moose Safari Moose Tour”. We have a 4.7 rating there too. Weekly posts include “Bull Moose Monday” and “Black Bear Thursday”. Your invited to follow along like over 24,000 people now do.
Safe travels everyone….

This place is just amazing. Elwyn made space for us after I messed up our reservation. He made sure my 5 year old (who is obsessed with Moose) saw his first Moose. We have some great pics and my children will always remember this experience. My teen daughter also had a great time. I highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a family adventure!! Thank you Elwyn!!!

So pleased this 5 year old at end of night told driver “ This was the best night ever”. Driver had extra pressure when at mid point bathroom break boy asked dad “Now are we going to see moose ?” Dad replied “yes”…
And 20 minutes later two magnificent bull moose had been seen by all. Phew !
Thank you Maria.

Not what we envisioned when booking. Before boarding we were told the moose population is declining and it is getting harder to find moose. Bus needs a LOT of attention. No AC, all windows had to be kept opened at all times for ventilation even during rain storms to prevent fogging up the inside. Just traveled the main roads up and down looking for moose. Guide had certain designated hot spots but ran cold until the very end when we saw one moose about the furthest you could see away (football field length). That sighting was declared as a victory. I summed up the driver’s personality as “snarky.” The tour ranked in the bottom three of all the tours I have been on. However, it did give us a every lasting memory. Time will only tell how it will be perceived as - the time we saw our first moose, or as we should have saved our money.

Sorry this reviewer had a disappointing experience in their opinion. Bus was purchased from California Wine Tours out of Napa Valley so not sure why so criticized. The interior looks new. Seats are comfortable. Got there and back. On time. Saw moose.
It has AC yet come 9pm up in the mountains the air is much more refreshing and better for you than a closed up cabin with 30 people aboard.
Yes it’s true if you totally close up the cabin during a rainstorm the windows get foggy. Shaving cream is put on the windows to help, but best not to shut all the windows. So the windows are kept open.
If had done as reviewer thought best there’d be complaints here likely that all the windows were foggy and no one could see the moose. Good news - moose seen by all aboard ! Driver did what was best for everyone. He does his best every night.
No mention in above comment of the now over 2 hours of wildlife DVDs which entertained, informed, and helped pass the time between moose hotspots. Big TV up front, surround sound. Most people enjoy the DVDs played. It’s likely this reviewer did too. Just didn’t mention them…
Every night is different. Sorry the moose wasn’t in a better spot for this reviewer. Should have been on board the night before or the night after. It was in the one spot which is the furthest away one might be seen on tour. I’ll give the reviewer that. Blame the moose, not the driver.
Gee it works out your paying about $10 per hour per person to have someone drive you around dark unfamiliar roads in search of the elusive wild New Hampshire moose. All while you watch over 2 hours of moose/wildlife DVDS. If that doesn’t sound reasonable then yes please: save your money.
Jump in the van out in Jackson Hole Wyoming and it’s $125 each. Just saying.
Our driver has done 1700 tours and self criticizes himself after every tour because you’re only as good as your last one. He successfully brings people to moose on a near nightly basis. You know, like this reviewer.
Readers… we have a 4.2,rating on Google Maps. Please be sure to check those reviews out too. Lots of photos taken in 2023 posted there as well.
In 2023 thru the end of July we’re 41 out of 46 nights seeing moose. Pretty darn good all things considered.
Want to book a tour: Meet Mr “Snarky”. Ha, ha. After 1700 trips not much rattles this company. Certainly not this reviewers opinion. Readers please be sure to read all the 5 Star reviews. They’re in the majority.
We leave at 8pm and shoot to get back by midnight. Readers : want to seek the elusive wild New Hampshire moose for a night while here in the Mount Washington Valley ? Call 603-662-3159.

Do you have a website with tour times and prices for June 2018?
Written May 17, 2018
website is w . m w v moose tours. c o m . the three w's and with no spaces. This sight doesn't let me type in actual web address so tough question to answer properly. Tour time is approx. 8PM and price for adults is $32. Tour days are normally Saturdays Tuesdays, and Thursdays, yet have responded to some requests from people from far away to have tours other nights like a couple Mondays so I don't print June schedule as it is not set in stone and ask that people call for "details" instead. Start going nightly to once the kids get out of school as well so that's another wrinkle in the June schedule....
