We used to camp with a view of Baldface sticking up between two other mountains. Our spot was in public forest land on a pretty little lake we knew as Mountain Pond. I guess the land was not too public because there are houses where we used to camp. It is still a beautiful place and I love the covered... More

Start from the south and work the circle trail to the north in a clockwise directions. I would suggest decent on the Meader trail for superior views. The views are outstanding as the "bald" was created from an old fire incident. Lots of ledges. Enjoy a swim at the Cold River Dam, just south of the parking area when you... More

The Baldface Circle Trail is a 4 to 6 hour hike - not too difficult. Most of the top of the trail is above timberline, with views mostly eastward. It's one of my favorite hikes.

This is the big hike that starts from Evans Notch. The views at the peak are superb, once you get there. It makes for a long and tiring - but exhilarating - day. Not a hike to take the kids on when they are little, and when they get big, only they are pretty strong and uncomplaining.

You reach Baldface and the attendant trails by zig zagging on Rt. 113 from North Conway in NH into Fryeburg Me and than back and forth between these two states. Real Country. You pass though fields of potatoes, turf and beans on land that's " the most fertile this side of the Nile". Incredible biking country as well. While here... More

Not many hikers, very quiet and great hike! Dog friendly too. Make sure you take time and jump off the rock into emerald pool.
