It seems odd to write a review about a highway, however there is a reason the Kancamagus Highway ranks as the number one activity in the area. There are several scenic overlooks which offer beautiful mountain views. If you travel the highway at dusk, there...More

I love the Kanc (many pronounce it Kank-A-Mang-Gus and I have no idea why)...saying 'Kank' solves that problem. This is a well maintained road that connects two valley towns (Conway and Lincoln NH) along the beautiful Swift River through and over a mountain pass, with...More

Nice drive through the woods, nice to get away from civilization, No lights, no power poles, no cell service. Some GREAT views.

Today was a cold -25 degree day. Too cold to be outside but perfect to drive the Kanc with warm cups of tea. It's a beautiful tour through the White Mountains. This time of year it's a frozen tundra but still do many beautiful overlooks...More

Beautiful vistas, breathtaking mountain views with lots of photo ops. I would have loved to see a Moose but only saw signs warning of crossings. I can't imagine what the views are in Fall. I'd be afraid to drive off the road. Definitely glad we...More

A ride not to miss - if the roads are OK! We were there in Oct and it was breathtaking. There are many stopping places, some with kiosks with excellent information about what you are seeing. The mountains are just spectacular

It was the high point of our October Trip. Breathtaking views all the way. Numerous stops you can take. Should dedicate an entire day if possible

Visit the Kanc by car - or better yet, by motorcycle. A great trip from end to end with many options for recreation (including camping and hiking) along the way.

Long drive but the sites are just amazing. If you want great pictures go during sunset or sunrise and to get some animals in your shots.

There appears to be one tight hairpin turn on this highway. Any problems with a 40 ft RV towing a car?

Hi, Julie. What would you like to know about this attraction? We are considering driving from Wells ME to spend a few days in this area before heading to Acadia National Park. We are from Kentucky and know nothing about this area. It sounds like you love this area. What would you recommend if we have 2 days to spend here? Or would you recommend we just spend the days working our way up the coast of maine? Thanks!

Hi. I reviewed this area just last October. The 32 miles is know for being the most magnificent place to visit in fall. It is mainly the fall foliage and the little hikes and waterfalls that makes it so beautiful. We started... More
