I managed to climb Mount Washington four times this year, each from a different side of the mountain. Beginning in the spring to go skiing in Tuckerman Ravine, with awesome sites and sounds of skiers and riders, then to climbing the steep cliffs in June along the Huntington Ravine trail, then going up and over Lion Head in July, and... Wanted my husband to see the NH mountains and of course they didn't disappoint. Just stunning. We took a drive & hiked along the way. Leaves had started turning but before the onslaught of all the tourists/cars/busses. A Must See.

This was our first time. There are many trails with beautiful scenery on top. This is the perfect time for this hike. Fall foliage are in peak colors in some areas. It is only a two hour drive from Boston. There are a few good eateries in Laconia.

This National Forest has so many things to do and is known for that I don't have the time to list them all here! Of course fall is my favorite time to go there because of the amazing color!!! But winter can be just as stunning. Well worth the time spent exploring the place.

I have to tell you that I have been in and around this place my whole life and there is literally a life time of adventure if you are interested in the outdoors and Mountains. The location for this is out of date however as the Supervisor's Office is now located at 71 White Mountain Drive, Campton, NH. The National... More

Leaves were peaking at the top of Loon Mountain. Beautiful scenery. Loved the Gondola ride. Loved the Kangamangus Highway. So many recreational things offered from hiking to riding the rails. We also did the hobo railroad leaves were not as colorful compared to being up top of gondola ride.

Beautiful views of the White Mountains with places to pull over and enjoy the view. Clearly marked trailheads. Roads in good condition.
