Delightful store, with locally made crafts and books of local historical interest... that was a surprise. Keene has a wonderful downtown, but this shop has exclusive products that are a cut above the local tourist finds. Artwork, photography, books,, tin work and the wooden hearts and mushrooms... well and jewelry (some featuring glass from a Colonial era glassworks... my favorite... More

I was recently at the Historical Society building for my nephew's wedding. I was very impressed with the room used for the reception. I wish that I would have had time to go back and see the museum itself!

Went with a group to hear a presentation by the historian who was a wealth of information. There are historic artifacts and a lot of information about the history. There is a small gift shop as well. If you are interested in the history of an area that dates back to the 1700s, you will enjoy the visit.

The museum downstairs has wonderful pieces of glass and Hampshire Pottery, The rotating gallery upstairs had an interesting exhibit on cutouts, and pink plastic flamingoes. Very interesting.

The Historical Society exhibits were a blend of a permanent exhibit of antique toy cars and dishware downstairs and a rotating exhibit upstairs which featured elements of the area's agricultural heritage. The exhibits are free. There is a little gift store where there are some local products as well as historical interest books. Memberships are offered to all- even if... More

Spent the morning there before leaving town. They have an excellent collection of Kingsbury Toys. My husband was in heaven He is a big time collector of old toys. Tin, airplanes, gas powered. He was so impressed by this collection. There were things he'd never seen before. The staff was very helpful & knowledgeable about the collections and the building... More

We took our one and three year old girls to the historical society's Wyman Tavern Festival in June. We all had a great time with music, reenactments, dancing, crafts and games. Food and snacks were 21st century which was grwat for picky toddlers. We plan to go again next year too.

Total history buff here! Great little hidden gem in the region. Definitely a lot of information in one place. Wanted to spend more time but had to get back on the road.
