The theater exists through the generosity of long time benefactors, and as such receives a wide variety of "revival" type shows and performances. A nice night out when you are in the area.

This was my first trip to the Flying Monkey! We went for Movie Night to see the Market Basket Documentary. A nice touch was that Alex Ray, the owner was there and he gave an introduction to the theatre and the movie series that will be running here. The theatre itself is beautiful and comfortable. There is plenty of leg... More

I remember this theatre as a kid I grew up and Keene and would go to this theatre as a kid and adult to see first run movies. I have gone to Red Green shows here in later years and this was the first concert I went to.This was a great concert in a small great venue. Very friendly staff... More

This theater was very nicely restored. It has live performances of outside talent as well as local productions and films.

All the entertainment of the big cities on a small scale. After your event find yourself in the downtown charm of Keene, NH. You'll find a bite to eat just steps from the theater. It's a no brainer!

I've been to several shows and movies at the Colonial. It's a great small venue that is well managed, has a great variety of shows and always fresh popcorn! To Date the top event's i've enjoyed there were the Monadnock International Film Festival, Recycled Percussion and the Talking Heads Concert Film "Stop Making Sense" which had audience members dancing in... My husband and went to see Joan Rivers when she was in Keene. She was so good that we forgot how uncomfortable the seats are. Went there again to see a Christmas show and that was the most uncomfortable 2 hrs. The seats are very tight and no leg room whatsoever. Your knees touch the person in front of you,... More

Live entertainment, shows, movie, performers and so on. Today it looks very much like yesteryear.....when I was a child with my quarter. Today the fees are more but so is the entertainers. Joyous evening, love, love the Nutcracker on stage or bluegrass bands, oldies playing. Brings me back to childhood. Awesome time well worth the money on tickets.
