About Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel - Day Tours
Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel is the premier dog sled touring operator in New England. We offer year round dog sledding adventures that range from 2 - 15 miles. All of our dog sledding experiences are designed to be hands on to the comfort level of the guests. Participants ages 2 and up are given the opportunity to meet and greet our rescue and second chance sled dogs, help harness and hitch their team and even help drive the sled (at musher discretion for guests and dog safety of course)! As always, the proceeds generated from our kennel based tours go directly to covering the expenses involved in taking in these incredible canine athletes and providing them with a home and job for life.

Be prepared to be hands-on, up close, and personal with these dogs. And that is just what we wanted!!! Great experience, gorgeous location, fun ride. Learn by doing as you harness the dogs. Feel the snow fly in your face as they whip around the woods. Dog smell takes a moment to get used to... as does dog licks/kisses if you are not a dog lover. If you DO love dogs, (and dogs as dogs... not spoiled dogs dressed up as humans), you will enjoy. During mud season, bring an extra change of clothes and prepare to throw your boots away afterwards. LOL. But totally worth it for the amazing experience. Our guide, Casey, was down to earth, grounded, no nonsense, but still friendly, informative, and motivating. He helped us feel like a part of the team. Other folks were helpful and friendly from the reservation process through to the end of the experience. We would definitely come back. We are also considering sponsoring a dog. We left with tshirts and sweatshirts to replace our mud-covered (and other stuff) clothes. We can’t wait to tell people about our trip when they notice our shirts! :-)

My husband and I took our 9 year old twins on this adventure last weekend. It was a wonderful once in a lifetime experience. The kids enjoyed walking around and looking at the dogs as much as the dogsledding itself. Our guide, Casey, was very friendly. We even had some gorgeous snowfall during our trip. Many of these dogs are rescues which just makes the experience that much cooler! They dogs were happy, well taken care of, and well fed. We highly recommend this and would do it again in an instant! Next time, we will pick a longer ride. SO MUCH FUN!

Our tails are wagging with joy to hear your adventure with us was such a wonderful one! We are glad that you even got some snowfall during your trip, especially with it being our late winter season! We will make sure to give out some extra howls to both Kasey and our four leggers for a job well done and hope to have you back to visit us again!

This was one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve had since COVID started. When we arrived there were 2 really personable and fun guys that greeted us at our car. We were given a brief rundown of the kennel operations and a bit of history. We were then introduced to all the dogs by name and told a bit about how they got there. Our musher (Terry) was fantastic! He showed us how the dogs are hooked up to the sled and we were able to do a couple ourselves! While on the trail, each of us ( 2 adults) were able to take a stab at standing at the back of the sled and calling out to the dogs. It was so exhilarating! Terry made us super comfortable with great conversation the whole time. We highly recommend this to anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors in a whole new way! Don’t be fooled by any of the negative reviews... Most of the dogs are raised for this and their happiest when running in front of a sled. When they get back there totally content relaxing in there houses. Many of the dogs are rescue dogs. they are given a far better life than what they came from and are so happy to get so much positive attention and a balanced diet!

COVID has defiantly made for a long year for everyone and we are so happy to be able to welcome guests to our kennel and enjoy a bit of life again! Our mushers love when their guests help get the team ready and to be able to share their love for this job. We thank you for taking a winter adventure with us and hope to have you visit us again! We will be sure to give an afternoon howl for a job well done to Terry and the team!

What an experience!!! I don't have any animals personally and rarely see dogs but I AM AN EXTREME THRILLIST AND I LOVED THIS!! It also turned me into a dog lover! It was so fun between the sled ride and just going to the kennel in general, even during the polar vortex! Check this place out- MrBucketlist

This was such an authentic dog sledding experience. It was great to spend time with the dogs before the run. Our Musher Joe was excellent- very knowledgeable and personable. A bit of advice: check the weather and dress accordingly

Woof, Woof! Thank you for the kind words as we are so happy to hear your adventure with us was so great! All our four leggers look forward to all their hooman interaction each day and appreciate you sharing their love for the winter! Checking the weather is always a must when coming to visit us here at Muddy Paws as we are always seeing some of the most extreme conditions. We hope the rest of your trip in the white mountains was just as enjoyable and we hope to have you visit us again!
