Description:

In the Northeast Fly Fishing School you will not only learn how to fly...

In the Northeast Fly Fishing School you will not only learn how to fly cast, but where and when to cast. You will learn how to identify what trout eat, how to select flies that match trout food and how to present the fly in a natural way on a trout stream, not just a casting pond. We teach you how to "read the water" and learn where trout hold in a stream, how to approach them and how to cast to where they will eat your fly.

In the classroom, at the casting pond and on a local stream - you will get personal fly fishing instruction and not be in a large class. We give you personal attention that quickly lets you be effective. Don't be "short-changed" by schools that are only a few hours or a day-long. You receive a full day of classroom and casting instruction AND a half-day on-the-river fishing instruction. Your instructors are licensed, insured fly fishing guides with years of experience. In addition to the fly fishing school, they are available for personal guided fly fishing trips in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

The team at Northeast Fly Fishing School are fantastic. The two day course is engaging and the instructors never make the students feel as though they are out of place. I can't wait until my son and daughter are old enough to hold a fly rod, I'll be sure to set them up in one of Gerry's courses.

This is an excellent place to start fly fishing. Gerry Crow does a great job keeping everyone engaged in the course no matter what there fishing experience. I have been fly fishing every weekend possible since I took the class.

I taught myself how to fly cast in 1986; last year my 21 year old son told me he would like to try fly fishing. I didn't want to teach him myself and pass on bad technique. After reading reviews of the "Big Schools" I looked for something of higher quality and found it. We both took the Class in... More

Gerry and Dave are knowledgeable, enthusiastic, patient and well equipped instructors who anticipated all of our needs. Their course is about more than just the mechanics of fly fishing; they also delve into the strategy of what to fish for and what kind of equipment to use in various situations. I can't think of a better way to be introduced... More

Gerry and Dave did a fantastic job showing everyone the basics of fly fishing. They are very knowledgeable about all aspects of the sport and make it easy for everyone to understand. They are super friendly and are very patient. I learned so much in a day and a half. I highly recommend this course to all.

When my boyfriend originally put the idea of taking this class in front of me I was like......uhm, okayyy. I'm so happy he did. Learning to think like a fish and act like a bug was so cool!! Classroom time as really interesting, lunch was more than we could finish, and getting out on the water... Well, it definitely takes... More

My husband and I took the Northeast Fly Fishing 1 1/2 day beginner class in the White Mountains. Gerry and Dave were so thorough in covering everything you might need to know. Covered all the basics you would expect... gear, knots, flies (and their life cycles), water conditions, etc., but also how to think like a fish, and act like... More

This would be the best place to start. Gerry and Jim did a fine presentation in the morning and then took us out on the water that evening. Very patient and knowledgeable about everything to do with the sport.

This was my first time fly fishing but it definitely won't be my last. Both Gerry and Dave are so knowledgeable and they don't hesitate to share their enthusiasm for the sport. They really lend their support to make sure you learn the skills to catch fish. Dave recognized my incorrect form during casting practice and spent time with me... More
