Great if you have a busy family

We swam, fished, kayaked, picnicked, played football, floated in tubes, then hiked to the top of the mountain across the road. Beautiful very clean place.

Beautiful views, small beach, coarse sand. Water is COLD. Great on hot days. Good spot to cool off with little ones.

Not worth a special detour to. We did a walk to Artist Bluff which is just over the road from Echo Lake and looks down on the Lake. It is very pretty and surround by autumnal trees in beautiful colors but the highways that are on 2 sides of the lake really detract from it. There are much nicer places... More

It was too cold to swim in October, but Echo Beach was still beautiful in October. The views with the fall foliage were stunning and it's a great photo-op!

I looked up places to see in the area during our drive through Fanconia Notch and Echo Beach came up as one of the must see places. Did not disappoint! Honestly didn't think we'd spend as much time as we did in this area. There were crawfish and ducks. The tide was low so we were able to view lots... More

A rare combination of a beautiful lake with a little sandy beach and charming mountains views. The place is quiet and relaxing. Found people/families swimming and playing around. The lake is close to the Flume, 5 minutes driving, GPS might misguide about the location - but take Exit 34C and follow the signs. The entry is free in the afternoon,... More

If you're in the area already (the lake is close to Flume Gorge and Old Man of the Mountain Museum, and next to Cannon Mountain) this is a nice place to stop for a swim. There are changing rooms there (but they weren't the cleanest or best smelling). The beach isn't large, but when we went it also wasn't full.... More

We came here in August 2015 after hiking Bald Mountain and Artists Bluff just behind and above Echo Lake. It was a hot day and while the hike wasn't too difficult, we were hot and sweaty and very ready for a swim. We had passed Echo Lake numerous times from the highway (93) cutting through Franconia Notch State Park throughout... More
