Lovely layout
Sep 2019
Beautiful store right on the renovated Main St. of Concord. Lovely display stands and great signage and selection of current books as well as guide, local interest, children's, etc. Easy to move around and to see what is offered. The children's section also offers many quality toys. Comfy seating options and a coffee shop. Drawback is the help is less than helpful and not very friendly.

A sweet way to spend an hour or two
Dec 2018 • Couples
While holiday shopping, we knew we needed to visit a bookstore and we opted for a new-to-us bookstore. We found ourselves at Gibsons, a sweet bookstore with a huge variety for all. We were on the hunt for gifts for our nieces and nephews, ages 2-10, and we were able to get everyone a gift here except for one.
A great selection of pragmatic and thoughtful books and activities made this stop a place we will return to in the future.
The staff was lovely and helpful. Can't wait to return.

Rare, Large, Independent Bookstore
Sep 2018 • Solo
Bookstores in general are becoming scarce, especially large, independent ones. I found Gibson's six years ago while visiting home and I have to stop by each time I'm back. Great and extensive selection, can spent hours browsing, and there are comfortable chairs scattered all around the store so you can sit and sample before you buy.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a good selection of new and discount books, plus a cafe and even a kid's store on one end.

Wish the southern plains had a book store 1/10th as terrific as Gibson's!!

Great Independent Bookstore
Sep 2018
Large with thousands of books covering all interests this is a great bookstore to shop. I stopped in looking for a magazine I represent, Juxtapoz Art Magazine, and the gentleman behind the desk looked to se if the title was in the database ... he told me to speak with the wholesaler to get it in the store. The books are well organized, neet and the store sells other accessories that will interest anyone. When in Concord visit this store, it is great!

WELL-STOCKED INDEPENDENT BOOKSTORE
Mar 2018 • Solo
Gibson's Bookstore is a wonderful independent bookstore. It has great sections for adults and kids. It stocks bestsellers, books by local authors, some classics, and lesser-known titles.

There are comfortable armchairs scattered throughout the store so that one can sit and browse a book.

The store also sponsors events.

During my visit, I found and bought “A Visitor’s Guide to Colonial & Revolutionary New England” by Patricia & Robert Foulke. It’s a nice handbook to have for quick reference instead of searching online for individual places or attractions. As a test, I found that looking things up in this book was faster than an online search.

During my visit, the store was well patronized. It was good to see an independent bookstore doing well in today’s Amazn.com World.

I rate Gibson's Bookstore at 5.0. I highly recommend a visit.

At the time of my visit, there was more-than-adequate on-street ticketed parking.

A local coffee shop has a little cafe concession near the bookstore's entrance.

Gibson's has a terrific selection of books of all genres, a fine coffee shop, friendly staff, and plenty of room to wander and wonder. Excellent discount choices also. This is a must during your visit to Concord. We love supporting local bookstores.

Design of Gibson's Bookstore is amazing, selection of writers extraordinary, I felt like I could stay there forever. Friendly staff and very nice small restaurant inside with delicious pancakes and fresh coffee. Best place in Concord! :)

Huge!
Sep 2017
Gibsons is a big, spacious store with a large children's area and a cafe. It was fun to poke around and enjoy looking at the books and thingamabobs. They have a really diverse selection and a whole wall of discounted preowned books as well. Must see for book lovers!

This is the best bookstore around!
Aug 2017 • Family
This is the best bookstore around! I usually order books online but often when I want it soon or just want to browse I’ll swing to Gibson’s. They have a really good selection and a lot of it is in trade paper which is very nice. They have lots of local authors and outside of the box type of offerings. The staff do a great job of setting up displays and end stands with books on a certain topic. These will often have write ups as to why the display was setup and the specific selections made. The have a staff picks section and those books will be on discount. They also have a rewards program. They really have it all! A stellar children’s section with some unique toys, a small used section by the restrooms, and I didn’t even mention the café / bar they have on site! Drink a glass of wine and browse a book. Life is good when you’re at Gibson’s!
