Our family always buys chocolates from Granite State Candy for special occasions and gifts. We send the milk chocolate malt balls to relatives in the west. Personal favorites are the dark chocolate dipped Oreos and milk chocolate peanut butter cups! Summer time brings AMAZING ice cream flavors and add-ins. Truly a treasure in downtown Concord.

I had the coconut snowflake which was a coconut base ice cream with dark chocolate chips. It was delicious with a true coconut flavor. We also purchased some fudge and other candy which was also great. I will be back!

Granite State has been a Concord fixture for a long time. It is a throwback shop
with a modern twist.
This place has been around for a long time at its present location. And it has remained in the same family for generations.
They offer just about every type of candy known to humankind. If you can’t find it, the friendly knowledgeable staff will help you locate it.
Hard and soft candy is presented in convenient self serve bins, and sold by the pound.
They also have a good selection of all kinds of nuts most of which are sold in one pound bags.
The chocolate is decadent, and displayed within glass counters. It is also sold by the pound, and boxed. Selection is exhaustive.
The store also contains a traditional ice cream counter with a wide selection.
Granite State is a must visit if you are in Concord. The stop will make you happy!

As we travel we like to seek out the local eateries and ice cream shops to get a "taste" of the local atmosphere and to support small business. At lunch our waitress recommended this shop for ice cream. It's a nice store front - large inside with a huge selection of assorted candies and ice cream. Our scoopers were friendly and engaging. I was advised to get maple - the taste of New Hampshire. While our "small scoops" were chocked full of pecans and maple flavor the ice cream was not at all creamy, in fact it was granular in texture. The proportion was ample, but we simply didn't enjoy it and couldn't finish off our cups.

My grandmother owned a candy store and as a result of am a bit of a candy snob. I have been to several other candy stores in state and this is actually one of the better stores. Dark chocolate is my personal favorite

The Candy Shop has the smell of almost one hundred years of chocolate permeating threw the wood work! The love and care the THREE generations of Candy makers put into their craft is apparent in the rows and rows of hand made delectables. The only problem is not walking out with 10 pounds of candy!

We enjoyed our ice cream, but it seemed like some of the candy was just regular candy wrapped up in nice "Granite State" wrapping to jack up the price. Seems too touristy.

This is a candy shoppe that will forever hold "first place" in my heart. I have frequented this shoppe since the early 1950s. As a child, every Easter basket and chocolate bunny I ever had came from Granite State Candy.
If you love chocolate this has been voted as one of the best candy shops on the "NH's Best" list.
In more recent times the shoppe has increased in size and added a fabulous ice cream counter but still the handmade chocolates are Granite State's biggest claim to fame.
Tucked away on one of the side streets (Warren) off from Main, if you are having trouble finding Granite State Candy, ask anyone on the street for directions. Granite State is well known and loved by the locals!
