This was a great and fun experience for the family! The apples off the trees were amazing. The different kids of apples were sectioned off and into groups. Not only was there great apples but there was also a beautiful view. They also had blueberries, pie, jelly, and candy. I recommend this for a fun family experience.

I'm a big fan of Carter Hill Orchard, primarily because there is so much to do. In the fall the Pick Your Own apples is always a good time. Or you can just walk around the fields and just buy a bag of apples on your way out!
I like that on site is also the Carter Hill Raptor Observatory - a year round activity! You can see the flying hawks, vultures, and eagles to view. When I have been there, the New Hampshire Audubon society was there with free binoculars to help view the birds from miles around - and to help identify what you actually are seeing! When the Audubon society isn't there the viewing deck is still available for use.
If you are a photographer, there are many great views for spectacular picture taking!

This is a great orchard on the outskirts of Concord. Apple cider donuts baked fresh along with pies and other baked goods. Nice selection of apple varieties. Seasonal gift shop with kitchen items, local jams, and decorations. If you have time, go for a walk on one of their trails. In the fall, be sure to go up on the hawk migration viewing platform.

Robert the owner is a gracious host. The views are amazing, the history is rich, and there are some hiking trails off of the property. He has a “yard sale” for his granddaughter in the barn with wonderful children’s books from San Francisco where his kids live and recycled toys, we loved giving them a new home. We also bought delicious hand made cider doughnuts and a bouquet of flowers.

We were looking for a destination in NH and Google recommended this orchard. Unfortunately it was too late in the season for anything but apples and pumpkins! Hubby sat in the car and listened to the Steelers game while I wandered around. It was a family day with lots of little ones picking out their pumpkins for Halloween and I enjoyed watching them run around the pumpkin patch. There's a bird watching station that is elevated and provided an unexpected, amazing view of the mountains. The snack shop had fresh baked goods, so I caved in a bought a huge pumpkin whoppie pie, OMG....delicious! But even better were the FRESH apple cider donuts.....those alone made it worth the stop!

We didn’t feel welcome at the place at all. The lady and the man in charge were sort of rude without a hint of hospitality. There’s been a good debate on our disappointing way back about the possible reasons. One was the color of our skin other was possibly just good old (very) grumpy folks with bad education and social media poisoning or may be general frustration due to lack of help. Who knows.. anyway. The road to this place was filled with great fall colors and pretty idyllic little town setup. Also a lake nearby was beautiful AF with vivid colors in peak autumn. I will not go there again but if you are light skinned you can. They may not warm your donuts and cider. Orchard seemed pretty good and well maintained for the 20 mins we spent there. The photo I am attaching is not of the owners.

This place has it all. Hawk watching, a playground for the little ones, and you can pick the most delicious apples and pears when the season is right.

Manager yelled at us in front of my autistic child. Frightened her. Have been going there for years but will find another orchard. There are plenty in NH!

I'm doing a New England road trip for my spring break (mid of April 4/9-4/17). Is this a good time to visit your orchard?
