Good luck if you want to do anything but swim them.
The tourism office gives you a number if you want to rent a pedalo and what you get is an answering machine (in French of course) asking you to book ahead on a bad website and gives you an email address that one can't understand on the recorded message.
No way you can just call and set something up the same day.
The nearby port of Bully or even Cordelle have friendly people picking up the phone who will be very happy to organize something nice for you the same day.

This is a beautiful but kind of 'artificial' place. It has all kind of facilities and commodities. Good for families.

Perfect for a hot day to jump in a cold and clean lake. You pay some entrance fee for the bio-pool but at least you have a depth of 160cm, whereas the real lake just next to the bio-pool is not that Deep at least at the edges. In the water there is not much else to do except for pedal boats. Outside the bio-pool area you will find picnic places, playground and snack bar/restaurant (nothing special though). Serene scenery though.

Everything closed from September until June. Beautiful scenery and nice 45 min stroll around the lake. Lots of activities during peak season: mini golf, paint ball, pedalo, swimming in the bio pool, outdoor exercise routine etc.

I called the tourism office of the Lac Des Sapins and they had just received new bikes. The person I spoke to on the phone told me that he would only be able to rent them to us against a check of 1000 euros for each bike, as deposit! I offered to give the deposit in cash, together with an ID because I did not have my check book with me and he refused. What a shame. Those guys don't even have a credit card machine to book the deposits and have not spent a minute thinking about non-French tourists going there on vacation from countries where the checks are not used.
What is worse, the website was advertising the rental against a 500 euros deposit but he said that those were the old rates.
Whoever is running this tourism office has obviously no idea.

We visited at the end of September and everything was closed including the toilets which caused us a bit of a problem...
The scenery was beautiful and we were able to walk around but no activities made our visit rather disappointing

We came here several times last Summer. The pool is always fresh but when you swim it feels like a regenerating fresh dive. The size of the pool and green color brings somehow, peace of mind. Perfect with kids and enough space to play on the grass. Pity though are the security guards which are also checking you 'social behavior'....., please we are a family with 2 kids and just wanting to relax, they give the feeling of being in a Communistic holiday center. By the way, the terraces outside are with friendly staff and reasonable prices.

Pay the parking " no shade" then surprise! you have to walk 1800 meters! so if you didn't bring a stroller well...good luck carrying your toddler & stuff this long.

Don't get me wrong the place is gorgeous, very calm & relaxing...but not for toddlers.

When you finally arrive at the "piscine biologique" huge line & the usual French attitude among all.

All we wanted was a quiet place to swim & relax with our 2 yo. Finally we had picnic lunch & after 2 hours we left for another destination much better & easy acces! Thanks to mother nature its not the only lac! in the Rhone area.

I had to get back to the first parking to get the car closer to where we were, leaving my wife for almost 45 mnt...not fun with a crying baby who wants to swim!

Anyhow guys, avoid this place AVOID if you have a demanding toddler & want a quick setup to relax in a weekend.

Mountain lacs are so much better!
