About
Join us year-round for a thrilling zip line adventure on the slopes of Bretton Woods! Participants are brought on an adventure that includes a network of platforms high up in the ancient hemlock trees connected by nine ziplines, two sky bridges and three rappels. This 3-hour excursion offers both a thrilling experience and an intimate look into the wilds of the White Mountains, with sweeping views of Mount Washington and the Presidential Range. The longest zip is about 830 ft. long and about 165 ft. high off the forest floor. Each tour can accommodate up to eight participants who descend 1,000 feet in elevation with two Adventure Guides, from the top of Rosebrook Canyon to the base of Bretton Woods. Our canopy tour features a dual-cable construction (you slide below two separate cables, instead of just one) and platforms and bridges milled from locally harvested wood sources, in keeping with our commitment to environmentally sustainable programs.

What an amazing and surreal experience our group of 8 had at this Bretton Woods Canopy tour which featured 9 Zip lines, 3 Rapples and 2 sky bridges. The day was perfect for this activity. This place also doubles as a ski resort. As we pulled into the parking lot it was missing the hustle and bustle that you would normally encounter during the ski season. The waiver forms should be signed prior to embarking on this tour.

We were met by two guides- Blair and Nate and they were patient in helping us with all the safety gear and walking us through detailed instructions. Once we were all ready to go, you take a scenic Gondola ride to the top of the mountain. From there a van took us to middle of the forest where you hike down the mountain for our first lesson in Zip lining. Both Blair and Nate explained in detail on positioning , starting and stopping on the zip line. If you have never done this before it was overwhelming at first but once you start to observe rest of the group on the practice zipline, you get the hang of it. The Zip lines continue to get longer and faster as you descend from a 1000 ft elevation all the way to the bottom. Both Nate and Blair continued to encourage, give excellent instructions to the group and above all they did it with a great smile. With each zipline, thanks to them, our confidence grew and we started to have a lot of fun. One of the ziplines was 830 feet and it was a fun ride . My favorite one was the one where the zipline was close to 165 feet from forest floor. You get to enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountains and the forest as well. The first 2 rappels were quite small . The walk on sky bridges provided some great views of the forest floor. The third rappel which was close to 40 feet drop was simply incredible. This is how the tour ends as you are almost close to the base of the Bretton Woods facility. You hike your way rest of the way down to the facility for about a mile or so. This should be a must-do activity for all thrill-seekers. Both Nate and Blair were amazing and we had one of the best times in the White Mountains region thanks to them. We had a blast for sure.

Thanks to Rob and Will for an amazing experience! Professional and patient guides who made us feel safe the whole time. First time zip lining and I would highly recommend. Felt nervous at first but quickly got the hang of it. Rob and Will have a calm demeanor and made us feel at ease. If you want a thrilling real zip lining experience then you will not be disappointed!

Never zip lined before but it was a great experience. Rob and Rob made it a fun experience but made us feel at ease with their knowledge and safety practices. One of the funnest things we have ever done as a couple married 34 years

I can't say enough good things about this tour. First it is super-fun. The ziplines are a blast. The rappelling is exciting. The rope bridges are cool. We were a party of four and everyone had a great time -- even the other three that were afraid of heights. Our guides were Rob and Pat. They were excellent. They taught you what to do and were very safety conscious the entire time. They didn't get upset when you came in too fast or hugged them or came in on the wrong side of the zipline. They were patient and made sure everyone was comfortable and had a good time. I have done many zipline courses and I have to say this was my favorite of all time. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful time zip line experience with Rob and Rob...They both were so patient and went above and beyond in every way. We are four senior citizens and would recommend this tour for our age group, too. What a fantastic day with two very professional and kind guides. Don't hesitate to book this tour. You will have a blast!!

So this isn't for the faint of heart, and it's nothing like the tiny ziplines you might have tried in Las Vegas. This is a major, 3-hour 9-zipline tour across the forest and there's no turning around once you start.

That said, this is a perfectly safe adventure equipped with all the necessary ziplining gear and expert guides who know the course inside and out. The training run takes a few minutes to explain basic practices on the zipline and the guides work with each person to help you correct any early mistakes. I have a fear of heights yet managed the rope bridges and 65-foot rappelling just fine, so I think most people can do this fairly easily.

Some key information you might find helpful...

- You brake the zipline yourself with a gloved hand. It isn't difficult or strenuous and is only needed in the final seconds of each zip. Sometimes you don't need to brake at all.
- There are no bathrooms, vending machines or seating areas in the tour - you will be in the trees on platforms designed to hold a dozen people.
- You are connected to safety lines at all times so you couldn't fall off even if wanted to. This includes when you are stationery.
- I would recommend wearing jeans/shorts, a comfortable T-shirt and hiking shoes or trainers.
- If you want to take video, use a Go Pro - there's no practical way for a beginner to safely carry a cell phone during zipping.

Although it's thrilling, this definitely is not dangerous and it's really an experience you'll remember forever. You get some beautiful views throughout and the guides go out of their way to make sure you have a great time.

Most of our group had not zipped before and were aged between 30-65, but nobody had any problems at all. Everyone really enjoyed it. Patrick and Devin were our guides and those guys were just amazing. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

This was such a fantastic thing to do. Despite my terrible fear of heights I did this canopy tour and I loved every second of it (except for the first two seconds on my first zipline when I was still nervous). Patrick and Greg did a great job to make our canopy tour (family with 3 teenagers and 3 other guests) a superb event. We felt extremely safe (which helped me to enjoy the zip lines instead of being paranoid of the heights) and it was the best thing we did in New Hampshire. Thank you Bretton Woods Canopy tour !

So my partner and I (from HK) together with 3 other pairs who r white people were in this tour yesterday.
We gathered, in a circle, at the lodge to gear up and we're told we need not touch the gears coz they will fix them for us. TWO staff started fixing the gears after telling us to put our feet into the loops of the rope device. The after a while (5 to 7min or so) the other 6 people were all fixed and even helmet and gloves chosen, and the my partner and I were totally ignored. At one point we started pulling the buckles of the gears but a staff immediately told me to stop, he'd take care of it. He and the other staff NEVER did. We were left in this weird group unequipped standing there like idiots, so I sat down in a rage. After a few seconds the 3rd staff jumped in to help us.
There was no excuse whatsoever for singling us out, were there? A staff handled 2 visitors, then went on to the next 2, and all were geared up and happy. The other staff sticked to the 2 visitors he started with, never cared to continue on us EVEN he noticed we were upprep for by telling me to stop tightening the buckles.
We flew 21horus on the plane just to get here and with all respect and appreciation for the New England leaves in fall and USA people. I thought the racial thing is over esp in a popular tourist attraction, and yet here we are again. We had done nothing wrong to piss anyone off and yet we have been treated so unfairly. I do hope that your staff will appreciate the fact that we came into the place excited for the zip experience because of the good reviews you have worked hard to build and on the assumption that we are no different from any other human being.

Let me begin by saying I hate heights! I was even scared of the ski lift. But nonetheless, I wanted to give this a try. It really challenged me mentally (it was not physically difficult) to rappel from treetop platforms, traverse wobbly rope ridges way the heck up, and yes, zip along dramatic lines down the mountainside.

Our guides, John and Steve, were the reason I got through the whole course. I could have aborted the mission at any point along the way, but their calm steadiness and constant encouragement were key. I totally recommend this adventure! This company clearly has hired a great team. If a big scaredy cat like me can do it, I think most anyone can.
