The ride up the Cog Railway to the top of Mt. Washington is well worth the ticket price. No review can accurately convey the experience of the journey, but I'll try. Tickets and Directions: We bought our tickets online in advance which I would highly recommend. It's a 3-4 hour experience, so don't be in a hurry and probably best... More

Great trip for couples or families! Be sure to dress for the temperature change at the top and try to watch the weather and hope for a clear day at the summit!

Mount Washington is more that just the highest peak in the White Mountains. It also gives visitors a high alpine, above the treeline experience. At only just over 6000 ft, it has the look and feel of over 12000 feet in the Rockies, so it is a "must do experience" if you are in New England. There are 3 ways... More

I took train on a nice sunny day in August. The ride was very smooth and scenic. The train climbing up that much of a grade was amazing. I think the temperature was in 50's in the summit when we got there, and hence had a great time. I wished we had more time on the top (1 hour just... More

You spend 45 min going up and 45 min going down. You spend 30 min at the summit admiring the beautiful landscape with every summit in front of you. Be careful to bring solething to put on your shoulders as up there it is really cooler than at base. You can reserve your trip on their website which maybe an... More

Although the Cog Railroad my be pricing for a family, it is something that everyone should do at least once. The views going up and coming down are spectacular, and of course, the time spent on top of the Mountain is well worth the trip. Recommend sitting on the right side of the train as you come down the mountain... More

As we were on a round trip in New England, we had booked our tickets several months in advance. Just our luck that the weather was really awful. If we hadn't all ready payed for the tickets we probably would not have gone. We came a bit early, and the ticket office offered us the possibility to take an earlier... More

I had fully intended to hike up to the summit for the first time with my adult daughter, but when I checked the forecast a few days in advance, it looked like wind and rain were predicted. I decided to book reservation for the Cog Railway just in case the forecast rang true so that we still had an option... More

We were disappointed....very pricey and "gratuity is appreciated." After paying $70/pp with a family of five on a foggy day. We couldn't see anything but it's not the railroads fault. If I were to do it again, I would drive up in my car for $30(takes about 40 minutes) even if you want a guide the 2/3 hour tours are... More
