Sad to see and experience that NH skiing tradition of a great resort now stratifies its skier population Traditional east skiers won’t have access to first chair and are even made to feel less welcome as a result around the property - what was once...More

Great trails and grooming. Large enough that people spread out a bit. Not really a double black diamond trail place, which is great with me !

Highway 302 or 112 in Oct? (9 Replies)
First time in NH. I'll be driving east to west across the state approaching from the south (Conway). Which is the most scenic (best?) drive Highway 302 or 112? If you say 112, then would you recommend back-tracking on 302 from Lincoln to get to Bretton Woods.? Is there anything in Bretton Woods besides the big hotel? How much time to drive from Lincoln to Bretton Woods? Thanks for your help.

Most people do while loop if have time. Kanc is considered one of the most beautiful byways but 302 is not that far behind. Cog railway, Bretton woods resort with lift to restaurant at top or zip line, close to Franconia notch and flume, basin, cannon mountain.

Good Food/Good Fun (2 Replies)
I recently visited Twin Mountain for a little sking at Bretton Woods and found a good restaurant about 3 miles down the road. It was excellent food and a fun place to eat and drink. MOOSELAND GRILL, is the name of the place. I had one of the best prime ribs that I ever had there. My whole family enjoyed all their food and drinks. The people that work there are very pleasent and cheerfull. I would recomend this place to everyone!!

Does the gondola at Wildcat Mtn ($15/person) have a much prettier view in the summer than the free Bretton Woods gondola? Any really compelling reason to take the Wildcat Mtn one?

Opposite sides of Mt Washington. From Wildcat you look directly across Pinkham Notch into the gulfs and ravines. From Bretton Woods it's a far distance view. Choose Wildcat.
