The little and big Eddy are a must see, the covered bridge is awesome. There is an old general gas station store and it's owned by a wonderful family. And the ice cream shop great. Swimming can be tricky but refreshing.

There is a covered bridge (Swiftwater Bridge) where rt112 intersects with Porter rd. Take a left right after you cross the bridge. Walk 100ft to the river, great spot to swim,or climb up to the rocks and soak up the sun.
For some great ice cream, get back on rt112 heading west, come to the end of the road and take a left. Slicks Ice Cream is in a bright yellow building on the left.

We were first time gold prospectors and found all the veterans to be friendly and helpful. And we found gold, which was a thrill:)

One of the nicest drives in Nh. There's gold in that river. Also decent fishing and camping . Great family day trip

This river is always fun to dig around in. The gold flecks are there- you just have to put a little work in to find them.

The highway up the mountain runs along the side of the river. It is stunning scenery and well worth the effort of going to our destination via this valley.

Liked what I saw. There are trails and walks around the river that I would have explored had I had more time.
