Just returned to the busy state of Texas from our second visit to Bear Notch Ski Touring. The staff and owners work hard to provide the most welcoming beautiful well groomed trails anywhere! Their sole motivation is to provide a memorable experience for the customers they serve. A great down home back woods retreat that is designed to provide a peaceful beautiful place to relax, forget your worries and enjoy life! After sking you can enjoy the free homemade bread in the rustic warming station. They also have soups and snacks where you put cash in a bowl on the honor system! I enjoyed pulling up a chair and visiting with other skiers as we talked about what a great day it was at Bear Notch Ski Touring!! Patty Babcock-Texas

Spent this morning snowshoeing Bear Notch’s perfectly groomed, well marked trails through beautiful scenery. Staff were friendly and gave us personalized suggestions for trails. Though the lot was full we felt like we had the place to ourselves. This place is a gem, we will be back with the kids.

This is a great place to go XC skiing especially if you are a beginner. Don't let the dilapidated building it's run out of throw you off. These are people that really care about XC skiing and are dedicated to provided a good experience. I was really happy with the rental equipment that I got. What was terrific for me about this place is that there are several very looooong flat stretches with no elevation changes or curves, making it perfect for beginning XC skiers or for those wanting to work on their diagonal stride or kick and glide and get their form perfected before worrying about turns or snowplows. Be forewarned though the trail map isn't very good (it needs reworking) and the signage isn't clear in some areas. There are also areas where you need to take off your skis to cross roads. Now and then there were some really nice views, although most of the flat areas didn't have especially nice views. I would come here again visiting the area, although I feel a little like an outcast since I know nothing about the soup and bread offered to others I am reading in these reviews! **Cash only**

Beautiful setting along Saco and up through the hills. Reasonable rates. Fresh bread and warm soup in the cabin. Genuine.

We went on the ski lift as an experience to do after the first time together. We did this in the fall and what a wonderful opportunity to see the massive Vista of color throughout the whole entire Countryside. The staff were very helpful.
