We stopped in here on our way down the street doing some store browsing. We got some pics of the Suicide Table and headed over to the bar for a cold drink. We were really excited to see the bottles of Sarsparilla! We waited for a few minutes while the bartenders ran around and finally grabbed two bottles out of the bin and sat down expecting them to make their way to us. They never did. They just kept chit chatting away to other people. I don't know if they were focused on locals or just too busy to notice us. Finally we finished and out of the goodness of our heart flagged down someone to pay. I don't think they cared either way. We could just as soon have walked out and not paid. In their defense it was a REALLY busy day in town so maybe they were just flustered. I saw some other reviews concerned with their lack of interest in tourists so it could have been that too. Either way, stop in for the Suicide Table!

I got a moment away from my wife and kids, and stopped in for a bloody Mary. Then decided to have another. You can walk the streets with your drink, which is kind of nice! If you're done shopping for a bit, stop in and have a cold drink. I love Virginia City!!

This is a very old building which has been open and operating forever. It is home to the suicide table and lots of local pictures and lore. Worth the stop.

Our trip to Virginia City was great and very enjoyable, until we went to the Delta Casino. We were staying at the Silverland Inn, which was very nice and the staff was amazing so we walked up town to the Delta Casino at 8:40 p.m. to play for a hour or two, but the older man behind the bar stated they were closed. Closed? On web pages it is stated it is open 24 hrs. We are standing there and there are at least 10 people gambling and drinking beer, as another comes from the bar with a new beer in hand. We asked again , and the bartender states "yes we are closed,( with doors opened) and states these are Locales, they can play". What is up with that? I thought this was a tourist town. We will load up and go somewhere else.

Spent time in the Delta spending your money. Late in the day we got hungry and wanted dinner.
Something more than the hotdog offered at the bar. I saw the bartender and some locals eating
a chicken dinner so I asked him where we could get a dinner. He told us to go outside make a right and go up the block. We did that and there was no restaurant to be found so we walked back went past the Delta and saw the Sawdust Restaurant right next door. We went in and the server gave us a menu it had salads & sandwiches, it was not dinner but we settled for it. We ordered and were not given the dinner menu or told of the many dinner specials. We found out later the Delta & Sawdust are connected by a door. So I guess it was screw with the tourist day.
If this is the way these locals want to treat tourists I would say do not spend your money there.

We've been coming here every year for 30 years. I can't believe the local tourism organization thinks nobody will notice the slot machines are gone. Really sad...I'll be spending my dollars else where from now on.

Yep, I'm a gambler and from Nevada. I frequent casinos and bars and nightclubs. Virginia City is the home of a parade for any and every occasion you can mention. I was last there Halloween night and OMG, what a show. This Saloon is my fave because I can drink, gamble and watch the parade from the picture window without being outside. I always win here on a particular machine so obviously that makes me like it even more. You get a good stiff, cocktail and a great hotdog here that will carry you through any parade. The locals are pretty entertaining because they dress like who they might think they were once upon a time. For the most part, they are friendly and usually have their pets with them. Lots of shoot 'em up and free entertainment. Don't miss a visit to the Delta, it's a great spot!!!

We got a coupon from the Was It Was Museum to come here, what a bad idea. Part casino, dark and dingy food area. We left and went somewhere else. Will say that the bathrooms were clean.
The whole town was full of places like this, pathetic and selling so much junk it is hard to imagine. The only worthwhile thing was the architecture of the buildings.

It is opened in the winter. I believe it is quiet compared to summer. I have been there in the winter and most things were opened when we we there.

When did new owners take over The Delto Saloon & Sawdust Restaurant?
Written June 27, 2016
I did not know anything about the new management, but the food was good, service was slow because one of the waitresses called out, and one waiter was on his break I guess. So the poor little gal who was left was running around like a whirlwind. But we loved the place, we loved the museum stuff in the back, we loved the gift store next to it. I would go back especially when there is live music.
