I visited the Opera House years ago during a renovation, and was fortunate enough to be able to attend a recent Victorian-era, Steampunk-themed ball here! What a treat! If I lived in the vicinity I would seriously consider having my wedding here! It's absolutely gorgeous, and there's a saloon conveniently located next door to the opera house.

My son and daughter in law held their wedding reception at Piper's. This beautiful venue with all it's history was the perfect place for a reception. There was plenty of room for tables to accommodate all their guests and the stage was the perfect place for the band to play and to make toasts to the bride and groom. The... More

While walking around Virginia City came across this building. What a history this building has. If only it could talk. It is definitely worth a stop. There is also "The Old Corner Bar" in this building. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit to both these locations.

It's a very interesting and informative stop., lots of history, and you really can't miss the beautiful building right in town. There is also an inside tour.

The staff was especially nice. They were kind and gave me a wonderful tour. I took many pictures and really enjoyed the tour. I did receive more than I bargained for. I am especially honored that they took the time to show me around. I had a really wonderful time.

I attended an annual event that was held here. The ambiance was perfect. What a great place to hold an event. Huge stage and it was great that the bar was down stairs. It was cool and kind of spooky when the lights flickered. I would recommend having an event here again. We had the Virginia City Gun Fighters there... More

I really liked the tour we took of this opera house. Our volunteer guide was fantastic. He had lot's of great stories share. It was probably one of my favourite things we did in Virginia City.

Very informative guide. Tours are $3 per person. The building has a neat history but has been remodeled a fair bit. It is still an active theater and can be booked for private events like weddings. Interestingly, the school district owns the building and all the tour money and other profit goes to support the local schools.

We wanted to visit a true historic venue in Virginia City and decided on the Piper opera house. The place is truly a step back in time and we were surprised by the artists that had performed there such as Caruso and Houdini. It was nice to get a little off the beaten path and enjoy, in private, a really... More
