A guide through the museum would have been helpful. Lots of material but slightly overwhelming. Best part was two docents explaining what some of the soldiers carried into battle. Battlefield audios were not working well - definitely need trained guides to walk you through.

Learned about this battle from a TV documentary and studied the history of this much lopsided battle. Well preserved and the audio is good. The video was disappointing and could have given more information about this day in April. Reminds me a bit of Carnton...More

On vacation from the States. Our friends from Helensburgh setup a great tour plan for us. This was one of the stops to give us a better understanding of who the Jacobites were. Amazing grounds, visitor center, gift shop . So many died here. Learned allot...More

The whole experience was great. The exhibition inside the visitors centre really helped my 7yr old daughter get to grips with what we were about to see outside. It was displayed well so she understood without too much explaining. The battle simulation was great even...More

If you like Jacobite history this battle was a turning point. I very much enjoyed walking through the exhibit at the visitor center and then finding my family stone. Hard to picture the immense scope of life lost in an hour.

A bit out of town from Inverness is the Colloden Battlefield. It has so much emotion associated with it so we went. The Scottish Cultural organizations have provided so many modern educational venues to learn about rtheir history and culture. This is one of them....More

Like the Edinburgh Castle, this is a must do. This is where the Jacobites stood against the English army in 1745. It was one hour long and the Scots loss of 1500 men. The English only loss about 50. I go there every time I...More

A well preserved battlefield, of great historical significance to Scots. They do a very good job of setting the historical stage for this important battle. Be sure to take your time on the interior guide tour, as it makes grounds more understandable.
