Beautifully situated among towering ponderosa pine trees and adjacent to the spectacular Lake Tahoe, the course was challenging but very fair. Four different tees allowed the average golfer to still compete on the course but everyone has to deal with the lightening fast greens - and they are very fast. Three putts are very common, at least they were among our group. Most write that the back nine is the preferable nine but I enjoyed the front nine simply due to the impressive ponderosa pines. We also saw a couple of coyotes wandering the course but there was only interest and no fear as they kept their distance. We had a drink at the opulent bar where a very knowledgeable and friendly bartender made the best old fashioned I’ve had in while. A very memorable and enjoyable experience. I’ll do it again as soon as I can.

Such an amazing and memorable golf outing! The course is a beautiful gem! Was in pristine condition. It's a difficult but fair track, challenging you to be at the top of your game. It rewards good shots and makes your mistakes costly but redeemable. The greens were PGA tour grade, as fast as lightning and tons of breaks and levels. I've never 4=putted so many times in a round!

Now the service was good which is why I rated it a 2 and the resort is beautiful which is why I added an additional rating to make it 3/5. However, IF you are black/African American or a person who is not considered white, do not go here unless you want to get a lot of stares from other guests, a lot of uncomfortable/covert racism..... it’s so sad just thinking about it all. I’ll try to update this and elaborate but it took me 4 months to digest what I experienced. Kind of like I cannot pen it down but I... we were all very uncomfortable. My husband met a guy at the bar (I believe he was of Indian descent) who asked my husband if he felt uncomfortable being at the resort. Sighs* my husband knew exactly what he was talking about. Never again would we be visiting this beautiful resort.

We have been going to Edgewood for 40 years! Beautiful beach and lovely grounds. The Restaurants are outstanding! We have celebrated birthdays and anniversary’s for years at the restaurant. The new hotel is fantastic. Well worth a walk around.

This high end course was worth the hefty expenditure. It was extremely scenic and quite challenging. Biggest challenges for me were:1) adjusting distances for the high altitude (which ended up being one to two clubs down for me) and 2) reading putts properly on large, lightning fast greens with severe undulations. Clubhouse was nice and staff were generally friendly. Would love to have another crack at this course in the future.

We played this course the first week of June, the condition and layout is really good - and the views compete with any course you can find - really spectacular - so we'd rate the course 5 stars, with 17 of the 18 holes memorable :)

Sadly though we rented clubs - which we've done many times across a number of courses and these were just about the worst we've had.
At $80 each set it's the the most we've ever paid and they didn't even include any balls - the first time time we've come across that !!
When they brought the clubs out they weren't the latest and the mens set definitely showed some wear. The ladies set looked like they'd been used in a mud bath last year and just put away dirty - they really were in filthy condition.

So, We'd say this course should be on your bucket list - suck up the high green fees and play it - just bring your own clubs. And a message to the golf management team - you're charging premium fees for this golf experience so offer a premium service !!

Great golf course and in awesome shape, kudos to the grounds keepers. We spent two days at the American Century Celebrity Golf tournament to see and get some autographs from some of our favorite celebrities. My wife and I are in our late fifties and have been here for the last three years. As we entered the second day this year a security guy with a huge ego searched our bag and said you can’t bring in pictures of celebrities for autographs (3) and also if those golf balls (1) don’t have American Celebrity Golf on them those are trash also. Ok I get all that we should have left with our stuff and just came back but are you kidding me as we did walk around following some of our favorite celebrities we saw several younger guys than us carrying just gobs of bags, card holders, and 8 x 10 pictures right out in the open like this was ok. Let’s be fair, me and my wife were searched like criminals and then saw what looked like people carrying so much stuff to be autographed for sell after a signature for money. We wanted some autographs for our den wall and travel history with no harm done to any celebrities. With all that is going on today as far as fairness in the world you would think that the Edgewood golf club along with American Century Golf would do a better job at security at entrance. We will be back next year and would expect that security at the entrance would get the picture and make sure all are treated the same.

Played the Edgewood Golf course July 20, 2010, 2 days after the Celebrity Tournament. Paid $220, and were terribly disappointed in the condition of the course, not as good as most $25 muni golf courses I have played. The fairways had bare spots and patchy grass, the rough was unmowed and bare in spots, the greens were well grassed but bumpy. It is as if they were too poor to water the course EXCEPTon the first hole that was visible from the clubhous. It was wet, lush and green. We have played a number of courses after tournaments and they are always in great shape. On the good side, the service was very good, the layout and views have a lot of potential with proper course maintenance. We were planning a future golf vacation with friends to Tahoe but if this is the advertised "best" in the area we won't be back.

Our family had a wonderful time at the Edgewood Golf Course during the Celebrity Golf Tournament. The course was very nice and the food was terrific! Prices were steep and rules were strict, but we had so much fun!

This is a very impressive place next to the Lake. I was interested in having a round of golf but at $240 for a round I had to be revived from the shock! They did have new golf clubs for hire at another $50. Thats more than I can take guests to my own course in Leeds.
The club house is very impressive so we decided to return one evening for a meal.
The service and attention to detail is impressive.
The food is not cheap but the presentation and quality is very good and we thought well worth paying that bit extra for.
Would recommed as a beautiful location and inpressive surroundings.
