The Sparks Heritage Museum boasts 4000 square feet of indoor exhibit space and an outdoor train exhibit consisting of a Steam Locomotive, a Caboose and a Pullman Business Car. Using artifacts to tell the story, the exhibits give a sense of the rapid changes northern Nevada has undergone, from ranching and mining to the introduction of the railroad and into modern times. Tours can be arranged by appointment.

When you go here be sure to check out the toy section. It's a bunch of very old toys from an old toy shop. Some of them look pretty creepy, but still very awesome. There was a lot more to see here than I thought.

We moved here a little over 1 year ago and went for a walk in downtown Sparks. Stopped in and truly enjoyed learning about the history of our new home. Very interesting and informative displays.

Located in a neat bar and restaurant area with plenty of free parking garage parking just behind the businesses, the museum is a must to visit. See relics of the mining industry, the railroads and the lifestyles of early Nevada residents.
