Went during COVID. They asked for guests to wear masks throughout the experience. Limited guests in the lobby before entering. They asked us all to sanitize our hands prior to entering the room as well.

During the time we were “trying to escape” we worked together to stop a nuclear explosion and the cast provided clues when we requested via a walk-ie talkie. It was very fun and each time we solved something a door to a new room would open. Would definitely do this again.

This multi-room experience was unlike most escape rooms. We have done over 20 rooms and this place is one of our favorites. We liked the varying levels of difficulty in the same room and the variety of puzzles. Staff member Ian was our game master and he was great. We enjoyed our experience so much, we did 2 different rooms over 2 days. We did the Skull and Scepter and the Sorcerer and the Fountain of Hope. We will definitely go again, the next time we are in Reno.

I went 2 different times in the month of may. Once with Friends and the other with my family! the front desk lady was different each time and they bring their own charisma and charm to the explaining of the rooms! I escaped from both rooms the first one with 30s to spare and a ton of tips we got stuck on one area but so much fun working together and running back and forth! The one with my family is a must which is the sorcerer and the fountain of hope especially if you have young kids or old kids its like being in a real castle! we escaped with 12 mins to spare and it has a 30% chance of escaping. I cant wait to try the other rooms on a harder difficulty!

For the amount of money you pay to play, we felt we didn’t get our value. We played multiple games and noted the following issues: 1. Many malfunctions in the different rooms which affected the quality of gameplay. 2. Game masters were overwhelmed with customers and could not keep up with our individual game to assist when games were malfunctioned. Overall, if you spend over $100 for entertainment, you expect the quality to be much better.

My friends and I absolutely love escape rooms and have been to many in the area, including this one before. We had scheduled one for 10:15 pm. It did take us quite a while to get situated and 'debriefed', so I would say it wasn't until around 10:25-10:30 that we actually started. We were told that there would be notifications of how long we had left until we reached the clock that would tell us. We were doing quite well and were confident we would finish very quickly. Next thing we knew, we were being pulled out. As we have done many of these, we were confident our time was not up, so we were very confused. We tried telling the gamemaster that there was no notification about the time we had left and we were certain it had not been that long. She got very defensive and said things like 'the clock was working on our end, so we know you were notified' and had even claimed to give us additional time to finish the room. As we left, we noticed it was only around 10:50. We had been in there a maximum of 30 minutes, yet they claimed to give us extra time. The gamemaster still insisted that everything was okay on their end, so we left very upset. We tried calling and getting some kind of answer; however, we were told that the manager was not in and we could leave our information. We have yet to hear anything back, and I doubt we ever will.

The game was enjoyable and well designed. We had a lot of fun even though we failed to escape. My only criticism would be that the game timer wasn’t working and so we were never sure how much time was left. To be fair the operator gave us an additional few minutes. Would recommend but would also suggest the operators make sure all aspects of the game are working properly.

BreakThroughReno always provides a completely authentic and challenging experience. The elaborate rooms, beautiful music, well-hidden clues, and clever storylines provide complete immersion into the mystery. We are SO happy these have become popular; our community needed more activities that can be enjoyed by families, tourists, couples - that does not include gaming of any kind.

I was in charge of my little brother for the weekend so I was looking for cool stuff to do that wasn't a video game and came across this. We did the U-Boat room. It sounded like it would be fun for everyone and it was!! It was challenging but not impossible (we did the easiest level). We felt fully immersed in the environment. We got out with 10 min to spare but we all said it did not feel like we were in there for 50 min. Would definitely recommend!

My wife and I have never tried an Escape Room before, but knew that the GSR did have some. We made the appointment and a few days later we were about to try the "The Sorcerer and the Fountain of Hope" escape room. When we arrived we noticed that the front area of the escape rooms had the old 40's vibe to it, we loved it! Our host was "Miketastic", was attired in the same 40"s theme as well. He explained the rules and what the premise of the "The Sorcerer and the Fountain of Hope" was and answered all our questions we had. He did an outstanding job making the game easier with hints when we needed them. Great customer service! We spent a really fun hour doing our best to decipher the clues, but alas we could not complete the escape room in time. My wife and I can definitely say that we are going to try all the other escape rooms. :)

My family of 5 enjoyed the breakout room! I have 3 kids ages 14, 8, and 3 and we were all allowed into a room. Although my 3 year old didn’t participate, she was able to be along side us. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The facility was clean. The price per person to play was reasonable. We will definitely try another breakout room on our next trip to Reno.
