On 7/16/22 I had a daybed booked and I worked with Tyler and service was impeccable; he was communicative and easy to work with. There were a few questions I had and he was quick to respond via text immediately and made himself available for any other questions. Once Tyler got us to our daybed, he passed us over to our server, Nicole V. I couldn’t have been happier with Nicole’s service, she was attentive and made sure we were taken care of; even when we were in the pool, she always made a point stop by to see if we needed anything and the pool was busy that day.

I had another daybed booked on 7/29/22 (which Tyler handled), and even prior to getting to the pool I was telling my girlfriend about Nicole. Nicole wasn’t our server that day but I spotted her later in the afternoon and gave her the upmost compliment regarding the exceptional service she provided on 7/16/22. Nicole wasn’t even our server, but she kept checking on us, asking if we needed anything.

The location is either a plus or a negative, depending on what you want. There is nothing around it so if you are looking to walk outside and be 'entertained' just know that this is a stand alone property, unlike properties in the downtown area. The room (Summit King Suite) was big and the bed was comfortable. Pillows could use improvement. The room and bathroom are somewhat 'dated' and the handle on our toilet was broken. Know also, there is no room service or maid service. (must be covid related). I made our own bed daily and cleaned out our bathroom sink. No one even comes in to empty the trash cans which after 3 nights there, were full to overflowing. There is a huge parking lot for cars and while parking is 'free', be forewarned that there is a daily 'resort fee' which adds up. We never used the pool or 'resort' so it was a waste for us. I just felt that the property was a little tired but it was clean, which was important.

This casino was sold to a large entity. They remodel over and over and over. Personally, I liked it much better in the western theme. This casino used to be a fabulous place for all. They had $3 and $5 blackjack tables, $5 pai gow, Texas hold ‘em and 3 card. Now they only have $10 to $15 tables. Also, we remember when they had 25 cent video poker progressive machines in a large circle. They were very popular and we would sometimes wait in line to play, as there were at least one or two royal’s an evening which paid $1000. We would see 20 or 30 of the same people there. Now the machines are so tight, I have not witnessed a Royal in 10 years! All the people we used to see have moved to other casinos. I wish they would stop remodeling and give players a better advantage.

Stayed in park 4 days/3 nights (thru - sun) for son's baseball tournament. We booked a premium spot with a nightly cost of $85 ($327 for the full stay). In May, we stayed inside the casino for another tournament (same number of days) and it cost us almost $1k, so the RV park was much cheaper. We stayed at the park because other families were staying inside. If this were not the case, I might have looked for another RV park within Reno).
The park is a converted parking lot, the spots have easy pull thru access with full hookups, and for 95% of travers, that's all you really need or should expect at this park. If you come here, expecting to make the park your primary vacation, you're going to be very disappointed. I found the park clean, quite and a easy walk into the casino to use the pool or other activities inside (in fact, it was easier for me to get to the pool from the RV park than it was when we stayed inside). Pro tip: the bathroom/showers are actually very clean and seldom used because most folks use their RV. If you like taking long showers, use them...
Also, no pressure checking out. Our game on Sunday was in the afternoon so we took our time packing up and did not leave the park until around 1230pm.
Overall, it met our expectations as a clean place to park our trailer.

Last night we went to the RAIN concert. Before the concert we ate at the Grand Cafe and all four of us had delicious meals. Our waiter Anthony, called Tony, was amazing! He was personable, informative and accommodating. GSR needs to clone him as he was exceptional in your busy cafe. The concert was wonderful. The sound and lighting techs did a fabulous job. The crowd was older and really into the music as RAIN did a fantastic job covering the Beatles. I know we certainly enjoyed this show.

Family trip, first time staying at this hotel, maybe the last, fast check in , rude receptionist, we got 2 A Deluxe Queen rooms for 3 nights. room 1 the air conditioning was broken but called and it was fixed, inside bathroom door was stained we didn’t even hung anything in there, no wash clothes towels, everything else was fine. it was on floor 8 the view was beautiful. Room 2 in 7 floor nice view, clean the only bad experience was room change in the last night of our stay, they called us while we were in Virginia City planning to have a diner, they told us they have to move us because there was a bad leaking in the room next to our, so we had to get back they gave us the room after, very early in the morning we were woken up by the noise they were making fixing the problem, seemed it was a very bad problem and looked gross. there is no room service unless you request it BUT they charge you housekeeping gratuity $1.99 I don’t mind if I get service. Kids area, pool, restaurants and casino floor are great, big parking lot.

The beds were super comfy and the rooms were very nice, but they only have housekeeping on Saturday, which they don't tell you; so if you are expecting clean sheets, towels and coffee packets in your room every day, forget it. It averaged out to be about $250 a night with all the fees and I expected at least towels and the coffee every day. They automatically put a housekeeping fee on my card when I called for towels, even though I tipped the service person in cash.
The pool is very nice, but the food at the pool was below average.
We went to go to breakfast and there was ONE "coffee shop" that was in our area and the wait was over an hour. You had to have made a reservation for breakfast. It is ridiculous for a place you stay up late gambling.
I wouldn't stay there again. I think when they cut down on cleaning because of covid, but cram you in at the tables to take your money, you are being treated less than fairly. Our friends had a suite that was around $400 per night and they experienced the same treatment.

Stayed at the GSR on a business trip recently. The rooms do not have hair dryers, irons, or coffee makers. My room had no soap and no bottled water. Housekeeping did not clean my room the entire week I was there. There was a bag of restaurant leftovers sitting on a table near the elevators for the last 3 days of my visit that was never removed. The gym is sometimes cleaned during peak work out hours. The Starbucks does not reliably open at or remain open until the posted hours. Restaurant hours and days are very limited. The hotel initially could not find the reservation then thought I was someone else who was supposed to arrive later in the week, this took far too long to resolve. Upon check out they at first tried to assure me I didn't need a receipt because it would be sent to my company's account, a receipt was only provided because I was persistent in requesting it. Overall a disappointing stay.

Had mine and my sister's Birthday up there last month. We rented a cabana at the pool at GSR. The waitress that hosted us was Brittani Marks. She was so professional and such a great attitude dealing with all ours drunk asses. I asked her if she can do me a huge favor and whatever drinks my wife order, can she make it a virgin and not tell anyone either. (Wife is pregnant, haven't told anyone and wanted to surprise everyone on Mother's Day.) She was so cool about it and play it so well that no one had idea on what was going on. SO THANK YOU again, Brittani!!! You definitely deserved a raise for that!

-Pool was fun
-Drinks and food was excellent
-Staff and Service was excellent

We stayed mid February 2022. Hotel was clean, employees friendly for the most part. They do have some construction going on but it didn't bother us. Casino floor is very smoky pretty much 24/7 to the point we got up and left at one point in the late afternoon. Food was good but the sushi is not as good as Atlantis. Steak house nice but overpriced. Escape rooms were great fun and employees helpful. Bowling center was great, clean and employees and manager there were excellent and kind. Housekeeping was non-existent in our room but we saw them everyday in the hallways. Be aware they will automatically charge your account the "optional" housekeeping gratuity on your bill but we did not see housekeeping once (no towels, no water, no bedding) during our entire stay despite being charged the housekeeping gratuity. Granted its only $1.99 per day but the amount is not the issue. The principle is that you are being charged something extra for nothing and I'm not sure where the "optional" comes in. Maybe Grand Sierra meant its "optional" to remove it from your bill? I'd rather they just ghost it into the hotel daily rate and tell me I won't see housekeeping during my stay.
