We enjoyed the exhibit of Maynard Dixon's works, and the "Altered Landscapes" photos - really a great exhibit. Staff helpful. There are places & couches to sit on, when waiting or tired.

This is a very well-designed museum always with excellent temporary expos on Nevada themes. An oasis of culture in Reno. Very nice coffee shop, and a good gift shop.

We stopped by on a whim, and were blown away by the exhibits and the building. Also, great little cafe inside where we bought a flight of absinthe. We were so impressed, we bought memberships.

Several people told me that I needed to visit the museum if I had time. I made time in my schedule to take a leisurely walk there. The lady at the front desk told me that since it was a gorgeous day, to start at...More

The NMA, Nevada's only accredited museum, is a treasure of Reno! Current exhibit of Miradas, Mexican Art and Maynard Dixon illuminating. Chez Louie, the cafe on site is the best lunch in town!

While not a "destination" museum, this small gem in Reno is a very nice side-trip when one has some time for art rather than gaming. Professionally managed and properly funded, one should not be disappointed with the collection and frequent special shows.

We've been to this museum on three times in 12 months and each time we've fallen more in love it. It may not be the largest museum but they make up for the small size by frequently updating their exhibits so every time we go...More

Enough cannot be said for all this museum has to offer the community and the schools in the surrounding area. The field trips are life-changing experiences for students previously unable to attend cultural activities, the Educator Evenings are a delightful way to complete in-service credits,...More

Small-ish cities in lightly populated states usually don't have much to offer for fine arts. Reno's Nevada Museum of Art provides the perfect exception. The two major shows when we were there were both first rate and very relevant to the Nevada and desert context....More

I was unpleasantly surprised with the lack of interesting pieces. USA Today said this museum was the top ten in the country. If this is so then our country is hurting. One area of the museum had alien depiction drawings, WHY? What a waste of...More

Please check on the days they close during the week. I know they do, but can't remember which day it is. And plan on lunch there, they have a great café.
